Hey, I was thinking about ordering the flip-top, and I looked through this thread but couldn't find the answer to my question anywhere. I was wondering if the flip-top can play PS2 original imports? Thanks.

I have a quick question myself for once :)
I have lost my contact for fliptops and need a good and RELIABLE site that sells them. Anyone buy more then one from somewhere with no problems???
I'm very worried about getting ripped off.

Dills- yeah i've ordered from them quite a few times, there's a thread around here somewhere that someone posted warning people not to buy from them, well you know me, i had to stick my nose in it, so i gave the guy the owner's email addy and he helped him out right away. i've had a few typical problems with stuff i ordered but they always fixed me up right away.

i know it sounds crazy but are you sure you're inserting the disc correctly? the only time i've ever got a green border was when the disc wasn't in right, usually it was green then red. once in a while i'll have a game boot up and there is a split second of green right before the blue. I'm guessing that happens when the hubs are locking together and there's that moment when the disc is in "limbo" but i honestly dont know for sure.

My name is Luigi, and I just had a few simple questions to ask you about these
Flip Covers that everyone is going crazy about.
I was wondering if I could use DVD-R to burn games (using DVD Decrypter which
I use for movies) instead of DVD+R, which I see a lot of people use? Also, is
the process really just simple with the Flip cover? I hear all these green
borders and red borders on your screen talk, but is it just as simple as
burning a game, sticking in the swap then the burned and you are good for the
go? Thanks for your help

darthnip, yah the disc is in correct. I figured this one out a while back. The odd this is with GTA III I get the Green Border and the Insert Disc scerrn remains, and it stays in motion (little white dots continue to move with the green border.) This is a new one to me... People say to use RecordNow Max, which I have never used since DVDDecrypter has always worked. This one has me stumped.
Thanks for the reply and do you have GTA III working? Anyone?

Luiginski, you need to search the forum a little more. Your questions are answered on here... however a quick summary to your qestions.
Yes you can use DVD-R, at least this is what I have read out here. And yup it's that simple if you do a successful burn. We have seen a few games give us fits or they are just to big to fit on one DVD, otherwish it's put the swap disc in, flip the lid, throw your backup in and press X.
Good luck mate!

no, Hitman2 goes to blue border then I get a black screen like it's going to load. I let it sit for like 10 to 15 minutes thinking it might be a very slow load, but no luck. After two coasters I gave up. fun game though.

you talking about gta3 vc or the original
i own both and i know gta vc works, burned with nero.
I forget if i got gta to work or if i even tried it.
i WOULD be shocked if gta vc works and the original doesnt.
I have gotten a green border before on a cd based game and no one knew what it meant at the time. Its a bit strange....
I'll have more time to fool around with it tomorrow. Are you saying you couldnt even get an image made with nero, cause i have had games that work on nero but wont on dvd decrypter for some odd reason ei. tiger woods 2003...
Ill do it on a rw first to make sure it burns and doesnt error...i wont know till i burn a +r cause i cant get rw's to boot.

Hey Dills, I am trying to back up GTA III not vice city. Let me know if you got GTA III to work and what method you used.
The image burned successfully with Nero, but all I get is the green border when I try and play it. DVDDecrypter hangs at 20% when reading the image to hd.
Thanks all!

hannurai, who did you order from. Should take no more than a week. So you should see something today or tomorrow. Did they give you a tracking number? If not, try and get one.

Oops, forgot to say who I ordered from. ModchipKits.com, I read you guys talking about them, and how the one guy who owns the company is really busy. Yeah, I guess I'll see if it comes tommorrow or Friday. Thanks.
