Yeah, I emailed the guy about shipping dates, and he fowarded an invoice from USPS saying that the item will be shipped May 2nd. That means the company will have taken over a week to just ship the item. That's terrible, and after that I still havr to wait 5 days for it to arrive. What a dissapointment.

Dills - i've had great luck with that site. it does suck that hannurai is having trouble, but thats the only case i've heard about from this site. other people said they had problems but after i gave out the owners email addy, the problems were resolved. there's always going to be a situation here or there with about any site, but i've had proven good luck with modchipkits.com, so you might want to try it. baysoftgames.com has the fliptop and swap magic combo for $39.95 but i've never dealt with them.

Hello,
I have been following this thread since the first message, first of all a great deal of thanks and recognition to dills and darthnip who have very much kept the thread alive. Ok now beware of Baysoftgames I ordered from them and took a looooooong time to get my fliptop cover, I had to file a complaint with yahoo and that was the only way I heard from them, also take a look at the reviews in http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1129.html so you can read for yourselves.
Hope it helps

I've found that kypermedia are about the crappiest media i've used as far as DVD-R. their cdr's are good but i've only had 4 out of 50 work for PS2. And i've read about similar horror stories. it suxks too because they always have deals on those.

wow ive never heard of that many problems with a brand of media....what a waste of money!!!
i think darthnip is trying to tell you spend $1.50 a disc and its worth it in the long run. Any major brand should be fine.

yeah i'll never buy their dvd's again. I even had trouble with movies on them. oh and just in case i confused anyonre, that was their DVD-R's that I only had 4 out of 50 work for PS2, not the cdr's, they worked fine for me and PS2.

Hey rondmc21. The reason your backup won't work with the gameshark is because the gameshark will not boot DVDR media. The reason for this is that the gameshark is not in DVD format. The Gameshark will boot any ps2/ps1 CDR backup thought. That's why when you buy the Swap Magic it comes with a CD boot disk and a DVD boot disk. My advice to you would be to buy the Swap Magic boot disks.

anyone have luck backing up Grand Theft Auto III yet?
PS - Games I have backed up and work:
Conflict:Desert Storm
LotR: Two Towers
The Getaway
MVP Baseball 2003
High Heat 2004 (cd)
Virtua Fighter 4 (cd)
TimeSplitters
Games that seem to backup ok, but don't play:
Splinter Cell - we all know this issue!
Hitman 2 - get blue border then screen just goes black
GTA III - seems to back up ok with Nero, but all I get is a green border after pressing X. Failed at 20% read while using DVDDecrypter.
Eric- HP Pavilion 7975, 80GB HD, 768 Ram, HP DVD-Writer 200j, PS2 v7

crap! i knew i needed to do GTA3 for some reason but i couldn't remember. i'll get on that ASAP. here's a few newer ones that i picked up over the weekend, they all backed up fine and play fine.
def jam vendetta
aero elite combat academy
colin mccrea 3
piglets big game
matt hoffmans pro bmx 2
top gun combat zone (cd)
auto modellista
sky odyssey
kinetica
X2 wolverines revenge
midnight club 2
as i look at this i can see someone's first thought being "how the hell did darthnip afford to buy all these games in 1 weekend?" well, here's the deal, i have a very good friend that works at a video store, i help him with the store's (and his own) computer issues, and he gives me first crack at all the games that go on the "for sale" rack. sometimes they get too many copies of a new game and sell a few just to keep room on the shelves for all the other games they got. it works out very nice when i can buy brand new titles for under 20 bucks! i suggest everyone should get to know their friendly neighborhood video store staff, or get in good with the kid at the walmart video counter to let you know when stuff will be going on sale.

I just bought a flip top, but am having problems. I mainly bought it to play import games ( Gran Tursimo Concept), and it will not load, i always get the Red Boarder. My US games play fine. Any suggestions (Laser Calibraion perhaps?)
BTW: I have a Ver. 3 PS2, if it matters

Sincethe fliptop basically just allows the disc swap without openign the tray, i dont hink it will allow you to play imports, but i'm not sure because i dont have any imports. but it seems you would need a solder-type chip to play imports

nope i sure haven't, i've been trying to but my disc is scratched enough to where it dies at 40%. i got a friend thats gonna loan me his copy but he keeps forgetting to bring it to work. hopefully he will remember soon so i can get a backup before mine is unplayable. good thing vice city is around or i'd prolly still be playing GTA3, and that scratch would really piss me off.
