American humor! You know, a little spacey between the ears! LOL!! Just fooling with you mate! Just a little humor to laugh at while we wait on some more birthdays to appear! You know, when you said intrigued! Don't blame me, blame my inner child! LOL!!! Hey, if you can't have a good laugh at 62, when can you? Nothing personal meant by it as I consider you a good friend!

Happy Computering,

Lol. Well, I have yet to see any negative effects in anyone I know from marijuana.

It's non addictive, helps fight mental maladies, can help clear your lungs of cigarette tar, and is a foolproof treatment for certain disorders of the eye.

Some people say it affects yourt short term memory and affects your grades. Well, the average user knows full well not to get high within 12 hours of school or work. The memory problems and loopiness only last about 6-7 hours.

Two MAIN causes of its illegality in America are stupid to begin with. First off, in the late 1800's to the early 1920's people found that they could make more money off marijuana than cotton. More people started growing marijuana and the cotton farmers billed to make it illegal to grow.

Second, an acre of merijuana can produce roughly 5 times as much paper as an acre of trees. And it grows about as fast as some species of bamboo(FAST!). Tree farmers in the paper industry saw this as very dangerous competition and put tremendous political pressure on the government to illegalize it. They did make it illegal and thus the smoking and consumption of it as well.

The way schools make it sound it could make your eyes explode. But, seriously, those "Above the Influence" commercials better describe someone getting drunk. They've even gone so far to essentially say, "Hey you fat loser, would you really rather sit on your couch with your friends than go out and meet people?" My answer... an enthusiastic "YES!"

There is no real reason marijuana shouldn't be legalized. It would be very easy to regulate it like alcohol and it would eliminate several crime rings and millions of government dollars spent hunting down dealers.

My opinion... :)

It's interesting that rope made from Hemp (which is pot) is considerably stronger than anything else rope's made from. Cotton based rope has to be a good bit thicker to handle the same load. Synthetics aren't much better than cotton! When they outlawed Hemp, they turned Hempstead N.Y. into a ghost town for a lot of years!

Actually it's Billions of dollars. The Millions go to line the politicians pockets. Only the local cops are interested in the "neighborhood" Dealer. Even then the Government is only interested in the bigger fish because it makes good headlines and the people think that something good is really being done, and that makes the big wigs look good come next election. You can find it to buy anywhere including Neveda where possesion of 1 seed is a felony! That's probably why Nevada has no 3 strikes law as half of Las Vegas would be in prison for life! Can't fill the Casinos with suckers that way!

What's crazy is that you can get Medical marijuana all around here in Ca. that the government supposedly grows and you can get if your Doctor says you need it! The government knows the benefits but just won't admit it. The list of those benefits would fill a small book! I mean if people realized that Cancer victums benefited from smoking it, people might just begin to ask serious questions. The first thing always brought up is that it kills brain cells. So does the air that we breathe. They just forget to tell people that dying brain cells are a natural process and are replaced by new ones all the time! I mean we can't have that knowlege running around loose now, can we? That's why I always refer to out government as the FFG!

Happy Computering,
theone

Since I have had so much fun today making 20 coasters, I thought I would take a break and possibly come up with a cure to my dilemma. However, I have had no luck thus far.

I am 81 years old and things seem to be a little more complicated than they was a few years ago. I am still doing research though, smile. I am not ready to ask for help yet and hope that I don't have to. I have a lot of reading to do before giving up.

I have always built my own computers up until this one. My gigabyte dually finally bit the dust and my arthritis is real bad, plus my hand shakes, so I thought it was better to get a pre made computer.

I may be old, slow, and shaky but I get there eventually. Alzheimer's is not the end but it is one heck of an uphill battle.

Wow, it happens. If you're going for a pre-built I would say to get a nice mid-priced Dell with a dual core or a Sony VAIO, they have very good PCs.

Thats what I did. I bought a return that was a special order. 3.2 dual processor,450 power supply, x1900xtx ATI graphics. I really like the BTX setup.

OK1the,
Tell us what you've got now, MB, CPU, Memory and burner. Also what Software you are using for copying. Do you Rip the DVD first? Do you use any Rebuilding software. Get back to us and lets see if we can help you eliminate those Coasters. I haven't had a coaster in so long I've forgotten what it is like!

I'm 62, and not in the best of health either, so I can well understand where you are coming from. Hands are steady but I can't see worth a damn! I think I've got a couple more personal builds left in me. I presently have an Intel D-940 3.2 OC'd to 3.81. I always rip every DVD with RipIt4Me and then either burn it if it requires no compression with DVD Shrink. If it needs Compression I process it with DVD ReBuilder and then burn it with DVD Shrink!

Since everyone is in bed, I can't get to the paperwork to find out about the motherboard. I have an Intel 3.2 dual processor. I have 2000 MB of memory. I have a Philip's DVD-RW DVD 8801. I am also using PenGo DVD -- R. 120 minute video. Although the DVD is rated at 8 X., I was trying to burn it at 4X.

This is my first attempt to make a DVD and I have an AVI file of a silent movie. I was going to make it as a joke mostly but it has really backfired on me. I thought making a DVD would be like making a CD, brother was I wrong -- smile.

I have downloaded DVD 43, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink 3.2, AVI2vcd, VSO--DivXtoDVD, win AVI video, clone DVD 2, ripit4me, any DVD. I found an excellent guide, printed it and proceeded to follow its step-by-step. I used the exact programs it stated. I think it is the media that I am using, I don't think it gets along with my DVD writer.

Thanks for the reply, its appreciated
