360 dvd drives are picky when it comes reading cheap quality media, so it could be that the disks are not of high standard and therefore your 360 dvd drive has difficulty reading them, i know that they work in you bro-inlaws, but they might be because his drive is able to read them, I think its worth you opening up the 360 and giving the laser a clean, that might solve your problem.

Take a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol and lightly rub the lens. Let the lens air dry or blow on it lightly with your mouth. Make sure not to get any spit on the darn thing though...

If what you're saying is some games work flawlessly & others don't well either a laser can read or it can't,it would also get worse over time to the point no games could be read,me thinks you need to look elswhere starting with the discs,in other words start with the basics first before jump'n in hands n all

The white top assuming it's matt coloured type is printable the make is usually in printed ink on the inner circle,if no make is there it would be best to get a verbatim dl that is made in singapore, then me personally i'd re-rip with xbc in my samsung drive & watch for any read stalls or errors,if it went fine i'd burn to verbatim then try it out..if that did'nt work perhaps a search of the net for similar issues & see if any fix is there, not sure if it could be to do with the mod itself, would'nt think so but...perhaps the person that modded your bro's xbox can take a look at it & perhaps redo the setup, when it comes to trouble shooting it's best to start at the beginning as it could be more than 1 issue combining

Hello all. Props go to c4eva and the team. My question is when dumping the liteon drive key can it be done by just using the ck3 lite chip without the spear. From what I have read it could work by just bridging two points together.
Also is there a way to create a homemade hardwarewhich will dump the key without purchasing the max2323 adapter on a liteon drive?

Yes you can solder so you don't need the spear and yes you can make a homemade spear.

Hi there, I'm writing an article on the pros/cons of modding an Xbox 360 and I really would appreciate having a quick chat with someone about the general process. Don't worry, I'm not looking to name-names and poke fingers, I just need a few questions answered and that's pretty much it really :]
If anyone can help out, please let me know!

Leerage has made a really good tutorial on how to flash a benq drive, it is by far the easiest jungle flasher tutorial. Here is a link to it. If you have any troubles just post a question in the Xbox 360 General Discussion forum on afterdawn, somebody will help you out. Benq's are the easiest drives to flash, if you read up enough you shouldn't have any problems.
Good luck.
