Its a PC and this is the same PC i have een using all along, Did as you said and no yellow marks apart from the help tab @ top

when you switch on pc is the cable already connected or do you connect when pc is started also did you reset the box before flashing dont get on your high horses but need to know exactly what procedure you are using ok so dont mind the questions

PC switched on GTrom open with bin file in place,put cable into box, switch on and turn to stanby and press download.Dont reset boxes just plug them straight in,but did try a full factory reset and no difference.Don't mind the questions if you can help me

make sure all the pins are there on your computer you could have damaged one the last time you did a flash.

Morning everyone. Correct me if I am wrong but can you do a box to box flash with the Starview. So if you have two Starview's you can clone one box from another, similar to the Eurovox slave to master method.
And so if the gtloader/firmware/pc is an issue, by bypassing these you can effectively flash the SV.

yeah you can do box to box flash but it doest always work.

can anyone tell me how to get a box going again, a friends clone box is dead i think he fried it with wrong type of firmware

my starview the box is male and therefore needs a DB9 female, my laptop is female and needs DB25 male
Although clones maybe different as never seen 1 and laptops may differ also

I tried the male to usb and it didnt work for me m8, I got it of ebay what I done was plug my null modem cable into the male to usb

my DB9 to DB9 (Females) is a null modem but the male to usb I am not to sure... it is possible it is not u got a link to a tried and tested 1?

the usb to male was purchased from a private seller, the null modem db9 f was included with the box.

the null modem is ok with a pc just not when i connect it to the male.. i am sure the force will guide us all lol..I am thinking of building a new pc anyway so I will make sure I purchase a DB9 socket hopefully starview will make life easier in the future and do away with the rs232 which is probably older than my grandfather and use usb only for upgrades.

I will test it out for what it costs its no big loss, I will report back people once received and tested to let you know if it does work.
