You all posted all my favorites, but since Voltron hasnt been mentioned in awhile I had to post this clip.
Anyone watch Robot Chicken? Its one of the best, new "cartoons" (think old cartoon action figures in stop motion animation) out there.

Top Cat (also known for several decades as Boss Cat in the United Kingdom) was a Hanna-Barbera prime-time American animated television series which ran from September 27, 1961 to September 26, 1962 for 30 episodes on the ABC network on Wednesdays and continues to be shown on networks as the BBC and Boomerang.
Tom and Jerry were an animated cat (Tom) and mouse (Jerry) team who formed the basis of a massively successful series of theatrical short animated films created, written and directed by animators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera (later of Hanna-Barbera fame). The series was produced by Hollywood studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1940 until 1958, when the studio's animation unit was closed down. MGM, in 1960, outsourced the production of Tom and Jerry to Rembrandt Films (led by Gene Deitch) in Eastern Europe. In 1963, production of Tom and Jerry shorts returned to Hollywood with Chuck Jones' Sib-Tower 12 Productions; this series lasted until 1967. Tom and Jerry later resurfaced in TV cartoons produced by Hanna-Barbera (1975 - 1977; 1990 - 1993).

The Muppet Babies were so darn bad that they don't even merit recognition here . . .

Josie and the Pussicats... not sure if that made it to this thread or not.
But my main reason for posting is that a local guy in Felton California (about six miles from Santa Cruz) has a video store called Scoob's and he drives an old run down van painted up just like the van on Scooby Doo. Light blue with yellow flowers, the like. It's cute, I guess. 5 DVD rentals for 5 days for 5 dollars.

Of course it remained in reruns forever
Here's something of interest to you cartoon fans:
Valerie was actually the very first black cast member on a regular animated television show (in 1969, Bill Cosby's Fat Albert appeared in a one-shot animated prime-time special, but would not get his own show until 1971). Valerie only holds this position in history thanks to the CBS scheduling department: Josie and the Pussycats debuted at 9:30 AM EST on September 12, 1970, while another new Hanna-Barbera show, The Harlem Globetrotters (on which all but one of its major human characters were black) debuted on the same day ? but at 10:00 AM.

Henry's Cat looks to be the glaring omission from the list of 80s cartoons!

Okay I just signed up to this site, and I would like to start off my first post with a question about two shows I watched as a kid, but cannot for the life of me remember the names of. The first one was about two groups of monsters, one mostly good and one mostly bad, who would compete each week in battles. I think they were sport battles like football and basketball. The main monster on the good side was shaped like a skeleton, but now as skinny as one. What was cool about it was the fact that the good guys didn't always win, which seemed more realistic to me. Then after the battle, if they were injured seriously enough, they would have to go into some kind of healing chammber with water.
The second show was about puppets instead of cartoons. It took place in a mall after closing time. All I can really remember is that there were a security guard, a mouse, and some other character or two. Sorry, but thats about all my memeory has on that one. It seemed like it came on the same channel and about the same time as two other shows called "Mysterious cities of gold", and "the Adventures of the little prince."
Any help would be great. You guys seem to really know your cartoons, and I believe you can help. Thanks.

I am not sure if you and I are thinking of the same cartoon.... but wasn't it something about these different colored fairies with wands and they turn themselves invisible when something bad happened. It has been so long ago I almost think that it was a book I read. You are the first person to post about this online so I hope you are talking about the same thing as I am. I am really trying to remember the name of the cartoon.
