i think this is RipGuard in process and there aint nothing im gunna be able to do, but if anybody has any suggestions?
thanks in advance!

Quote: First, this movie was made in 2004, way before RipGuard was even a twinkle in Macrovisions eye
Blockbuster create there own disks for rental, so the disks would have been made very very recently as the movie is not relesed till next week....so there is every possibility my problems could be due to RipGuard.
Quote: You are not supposed to be copying any movie other then what you own.
i do own it! as i work at blockbuster, i get the dvd's that we have to many of for cheap...so i have a lot of 'ex rentals'in my collection, though they have never been rented.
Quote: Maybe you got a bad disc and should go buy a good one
mty friend tried to copy one of teh other disks and encontered the same problems...i dont feel this is a coinsidence.

It was made in 2004.
This movie will be released on DVD in March 7, 2005 in the UK and in April in the US.
Edit, my mistake prior.
Read the release date US style, 07.03.2005!
Does this show as a High Definition DVD since that is what MacroVision slated the first use of RipGuard to be on?

It is not RipGaurd and can be ripped with Decrypter. You will need a PSL file to do it.
Quote: As of today, I know the following titles DO need PSL files with 3.5.2.0:
'The Forgotten' - Region 2 (Dutch) - Link
'The Forgotten' - Region 2 (German) - Link
'The Forgotten' - Region 2 (Spanish) - Link
'The Notebook' - Region 2 (UK) - Link
'Little Black Book' - Region 2 (UK) - Link
'She Hates Me' - Region 2 (UK) - Link
'L4YER CAKE' - Region 2 (UK) - Link
I found this on the Decrypter forums as well

Using DVDD 3.5.2.0 only ONE movie requires the PSL file and that is Layer Cake, all the other PSL files are incoorperated in the new DVDD version. .

No problem, anyone having problems with Decrypter and a newer movie should check out the Decrypter Forums and do a search. You may need a PSL File for a small number of the newest movies.

I am starting to understand this PSL file buisness, i can see how to get to 'file' 'import' under dvd decypter but where am i looking for the psl files ? I can see the list above but i am not sure where to select them from. I suppose its just a case of importing them then and running dvd decypter as normal ?

PSL Files
Newbie
sorry if im being thick but im new to this, how do you put the numbers as a file that dvd decrypter will understand
LIGHTNING UK!
open up a txt in notepad.
copy and paste the letters/numbers exactly as you see them onto notepad,
close notepad, then rename the file extension from txt to PSL.
Newbie
sorry to be a pain but where do you save the notepad after you have renamed it to psl hope you can help
PSL Files Insert
eh?!
You've got a file called [something].psl - yeah?
Now put the disc in your drive, load dvd dec, wait for it to say 'Ready' in the status bar, then click the 'File' menu, then 'Protected Sectors List', then 'Import...', then select your PSL file and click ok.
Job done, rip away.

There are only a small number of movies that need the PSL Files. The next version of Decrypter should not need them whenever it comes out.Donate to LIGHTNING UK! or buy AnyDVD which is updated regularly,I don't use it but I hear it works well.
