bennec83,

Have you tried as I suggested? e.g. download free trial of DVD Region+CSS Free.

I didnt even need any PSL file!!

DVDIdle.com/dvd-region-free.htm" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.DVDIdle.com/dvd-region-free.htm

I used this on the fly with DVD Shrink and it worked a treat!

Good Luck

bennec83,

After being in the same predicament as yourself I persevered with the DVD Decrypter/DVD Shrink method involving importing the psl file and, as previously posted, ultimately succeeded in ripping and burning a backup of the disc.
As I was intrigued by "Ijack"s method (DVD Region+css and DVD Shrink)I gave it a go and it too ripped and shrunk (all-in-one)the disc no problem whatsoever in around 50 - 60 mins.
I`d give it a go !!

Following the magnum method, I am finding myself with a lot of "sector - packet not found" errors on certain VOBs.

Can I minimise these? How?

Also, how is it best to copy with decrypter? By file or as a disk?

Sometimes I am also getting the errors at 96% that I have read others having. What's that about?

I cannot believe how much time I wasted on methods other than the following. My results were variable and never so easy as what happened when I eventually chose to do what Ijack suggested.

From his first post:

"I managed to rip "UK PAL rental" Layer Cake using latest version of DVD region+css with no problems whatsoever. It was Sony Arcoss protection which AnyDVD didnt like"

It was so simple and so unbelievable, that I only deactivated AnyDVD when I was at my wit's end. Leaving on DVD Region+CSS Free, I just used Shrink and ripped as easily as I have always done in every other case with AnyDVD.

It was so simple... so easy. No text files. Nothing.

That's all you need to do. Deactivate AnyDVD and anything else of it's kind. Make sure you have activated DVD Region+CSS Free and then simply swipe the disc through Shrink and it's done.

DVD Region+CSS Free v5.81

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_region_free.cfm

Free for 30 days? You won't need 30 seconds when your realise how simple it is!

It's only my relief at finally having done it and my pleasure at having found another viable combo (CSS + Shrink angle, as opposed to my regular (AnyDVD +Shrink) for future reference, that stops me from tearing my hair out!

It can. It quite famously broke another configuration of it, as it came out, but this one seems to be something a bit different. I thought they had no room to improve but at least this means I can say that the next AnyDVD will be even better.

It is nice to now have two angles though - with AnyDVD and CSS Region Free.

Option #3 use Decrypter with the psl file and save yourself some money. If you are going to buy a new program every time a new movie comes out wouldn't be cheaper to just buy the movie?

When using a psl file it is best to turn off AnyDVD or any other backround program you have running.

You only need the psl files for a few movies,I have used them in the past with the older version of Decrypter it's really not that hard.
