this might be an alternate solution, if not mentioned already:

MAX Drive Pro is the ultimate solution for the homebrew GameCube programmer.

At last you can transfer data between your GameCube and PC?quickly and easily!

The system consists of 3 components ? the MAX Drive Pro cartridge, USB cable and the Loader Disc.

The MAX Drive Pro cartridge is an 8MB (64 Megabit) memory card for GameCube with a built-in high speed USB port. Using the supplied USB cable, files can be easily transferred between the card and any USB-enabled PC.

The Loader Disc boots on any GameCube from any region, and loads files from the MAX Drive Pro cartridge. Files are displayed in a simple file structure and any executable files are pre-loaded and run.

* Massive 8MB/64Mb GameCube memory card with built-in high speed USB port (USB cable supplied)
* Over 1000 blocks of game save data - 16 times the size of a standard GameCube memory card
* Run executable files on a GameCube
* A must have for the homebrew GameCube programmer
* Simply drag and drop PC files onto the MAX Drive Pro cartridge
* Works on any GameCube from any region

I mentioned that a long time ago and everyone ignored me. I would be neat if you could launch an app off of it that just establishes the connection with the pc at the full bandwidth.

Can someone please clarify the following things for me. Thanks

hi, guys i just recently stumbled upon this thread.
I thought it was really amazing how people are able to burn/play gamecube games.

I dont know much about ripping and stuff so i have a couple of questions...

1.What is CAT-5 converter cable? Do they come with a gamecube/pc? if no are they easily available to be bought?

2.Can you guys please give a generalization of how well most games run

Please start a new thread for this issue since this one is getting pretty long. Also need more information such as what Windows version you are running and how are your network adapter(s) setup (i.e., how many and what IP addresses are you using).

PS2 - v8
Mod - Magic V
Burner - CenDyne (Pioneer) DVR-A05
Media - Anything Cheap

Gamecube w/Broadband Adapter
Phantasy Star Online
Animal Crossing Loader v1.4
Phantasy Star Uploader v1.1
Gamecube ISO Ripping Server v1.0.0.29

After I have the Gamecube Backup file of my game on my harddrive, can I can burn it on to a mini 1.4GB DVD-R disk that is the same size as the Gamecube game. Even if I can burn it on the disk, will it run on the gamecube? If the original gamecube system dosen't read mini DVD-R format, dose the the Pansonic Version of the Gamecube reads DVD+R or DVD-R formats? Before I make an investment to get the hardward and discs, it is possible at all to run backup gamecube games? I greatly appreaciate all your professional advices.

You can burn the ripped GCN-Files on am mini-DVD but the GCN isn't able to boot them. The Panasonic cube is, I think.
Running backup files via BBA is another thing, some people can manage it and get it running, others don't.
I tried it and all the games that worked were awfully choppy and not really playable.

Yes, there is am modchip available but it is only for playing NTSC Games on a PAL GCN. There's no modchip available for playing copied games.

Where can I really find a gamecube .dol file or whatever you need to run a game. This is very confusing. And do you or do you not know of a gamecube file that can be downloaded? Do any of these files actually work? All of the links on this site that claim to have a gamecube file, simply do not have any gamecube files! The only thing I could find is a site that had files that were far too small too even have a single level of a game unless you were playing a NES game. Personally I think that they do not exist and you are all making this up because you want someone to use the gamecube emulater. That does not have any game downloads period. I think it is all a big joke! If you have any information to prove me wrong I would like to see it. But right now I think you are all liars!

Thanks for the info. But Can you send me a link of a gamecube full download. That is not 88k or 500k. because that simply is far too small to have even a single level of a game. I would think it would have to be at least 50 MB or more.

The file given to the download files are .gci. But this only gives you a blank screen. And the bottom of the screen dispalys ready. But I need a .dol .elf ending file name to run the game. Where can I get a download for .dol or .elf.

Hey I think I need some help making this work. I got too far ahead of my self and didn't read that there are 2 diffrent versions of this PSO I&II. I didn't know that there was a differance on this Plus edition. Anyway I can't seam to make this work following all the directions I have found. so I'm gussing that is has somthing to do with this PSO Plus edition. can anyone help me make it work or should I just go trade it in on the older version because the EB game place has one just down the street I could just do a trade in and maybe pay like 10 or 15 bux. And if so will I need to go thru and make a new file or will it work on that save file?

DNS problem:

ah... i'm getting a weird error, or no error i mean... it just doesn't save... PSUL resolves the dns request, but doesn't save the info to the gamecube.

I'm using PSO I&II plus...
I heard this may not allow the operation.

Say it ain't so...
Then I'd have to return the game, aka sell it back at 5% of the price I paid for it; and track down PSOI&II (not plus).

bizquick... this applies to you as swell
