Nice... way to admit to piracy.

Hope you have your $100k ready. The FBI should be on their way.

Wonder if he is any relation to our buddy RahStyles?
Perhaps we should start our own AfterDawn end of year awards ceremony, nominations are now open for the "Rahssies" Anyone to second it?

A chunk of the 19 pages of this thread would disagree with AnyDVD not working for The Dark Knight, and ditto re Wall-E, they're both 'old news' regarding whether or not they can be ripped (ie they can)..

edit- Apart from being incoherent in this and your other 2 posts on the site, you need to remove the advertising links from your signature.
Forum Rules are in mine.

edit- looking at the other posts, 'tis indeed a spammer, and one charged with using a brain without a licence by the looks of it.. i was a bit slow here, too many IQ-challenged spam posts lately methinks

anydvd WILL backup BOTH movies fine. I had NO trouble with EITHER movie using anydvd & clonedvd 2. if you had problems it would have been either bad disc (dirty, scratched etc.) or you're ODD was unable to read/transcode them. many people have that problem using laptops

That guy has bigger issues than not being able to back this flick up.

Holy crap! How long is this thread going to go on? I think that it has more than been established that the two main rippers (DVDFab and AnyDVD) can handle this one. If you are still having problems it is your process and not the protection stopping you.
Sorry for the soapbox, just couldn't believe how many posts there were for this one flick :D

I don't disagree. However if we close it we'll end up with strange people joining the site and posting Dark Knight tales of woe all over the shop, at least we can catch them and torture them with the single thread per movie thing :) ..

..but yes, DVDFab (my recommendation) and/or AnyDVD are all that's needed to do any movie out there.

To avoid reading the entire thread and for the lazy or newbie...
How to make a backup of The Dark Knight to perserve YOUR original copy.

Need
- AnyDVD 6.5.1.8 (trial works)
- DVD Shrink 3.2 (free)
- DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 (free)
- Virtual drive software (ie. CloneCD, MagicISO, most Burning software has this function)
*** later versions of each program should work fine.

Assuming you installed all 3... lets begin.

1. Use AnyDVD to create an ISO on your HD.
a. RightClick the Fox in your SysTray... 'Rip to Image'
b. Check paths and Copy DVD
c. When progress says Done!.. Close AnyDVD completely. RightClick Fox and Exit

2. Mount the new ISO to a virtual drive.

3. Open DVD Shrink, Open Disc... choose the MOUNTED DVD.
a. fix your compressions accordingly.
b. When done, File... Backup and Save to a new ISO file.
c. Exit DVD Shrink.

4. Burn this new ISO. Personally I prefer DVD Decrypter as its barebones and has never failed like Nero and the like, have done to me in the past.

Please no flames. If you need help with something msg me, don't bother replying in thread... I think this dead horse has been beat.

And if you have Vista 64 bit and AnyDVD 6.4.9.0 (or higher)... simply:

1. Open AnyDVD. Right click on the fox head in your task bar then click on Rip video DVD to hard disk.

2. Open DVD shrink, locate file the proceed as usual.

3. Locate file and manually burn to disk using Nero 9 or higher.

Wanted to mention that I haven't found a way around TDK bad sector protection other than using SuperDVD copy to do a full file copy to disk. It will burn and play to a DL disk, but Dvd Shrink, AnyDVD, Smart Ripper and Dvd Decryptor all failed to even do file copies of this disk. As all the bad sector protections seem to work, the corrupted file is the VTS_01_1.VOB which is where they all hang up. Dvd Shrink probably hangs the worst, sucks up all the systems ram, will get to about 25% actually before giving a "System memory resource" error and crashing.

(NOTE: After watching the original in two separate players found skips in the disk @ around the halfway point from scratches that weren't immediately obvious on visual inspection, being this is where DvD Shrink seems to be hanging up the worst, going to take my DL file copy and work off that)
