What's not to like about anyDVD? Fabulous program and from the sound of your post, the reason you were able to get TDK done! JM2C

Did anyone's back up happen to contain a few glitches? Like when the Joker is walking in the kitchen room where all those mob guys are talking to the Chinese guy on tv, there is a small glitch for like a second....
thanks

Ok... this reply is mostly for 7thsinger... but I tried cleaning my computer out with Ccleaner and uninstalling and reinstalling Dvd Fab 5.2.2.0. I tried ripping Dark Knight with that and CSS Region running in the background, and it still freezes up the software and causes it to shut down. And AnyDvd I ran out of time on the free trial.. If anyone else can help, can they please? Is it worth buying the AnyDvd software just to try it?? Unless if someone else has another idea for how I can rip Dark Knight. Besides Fab... Dvd Decrypter, Rip it 4 Me, and Shrink all didn't work either...
Thanks

are you sure the DVD is completely clean? and without any fingerprints etc.? if it is then i would say you're drive/burner is the problem. some ODDs read DVDs better than others so anydvd would probably not help TDK was not that heavily protected at all

Best to purchase it now, because shortly they will start charging for yearly updates, and I believe, they still are free for a short period of time
And yes, it is more than worth it.

EDITED: sorry for a little off topic.
Honestly, I find it hard to believe that few (people) are haven't so much issue trying to rip and backup "TDK and Wall-E". These two movies shouldn't be hard at all, both DVDFab HD Decrypter and AnyDVD should be able to handle/rip these two beast flawlessly.
I've tested both of my backups (TDK & Wall-E) and they're absolutely beautiful. Is it just me or is there any one else with me? No hard feeling here, but I'm sorta tired of trying to explain every single details to successfully ripped and burned when there are instructions and guides already provided. Everyone here on board, should have learned/known that DVDFab HD Decrypter (Platinum) and AnyDVD are the only 2 best rippers at the moment. That being said, if you've updated (got the latest version) and still can't rip, then it is obvious that you've got a "bad pressed" and or maybe it's best to "read more guides".
I'm done with TDK and Wall-E. Moving on to the next chapter with more challenging stuff to play with.
Good luck to all and happy burning.

Interesting. So it could be my drive... However, if it was the drive, would that seriously be a cause for the software to freeze up and crash? To me that sounds like the software can't even analyze and open the disc to rip... b/c of encryptions... I mean, in the other softwares, such as Dvd Decrypter or Rip It 4 Me, it recognizes the disc at least, but it doesn't rip past VTS_05... That's where it freezes. Honestly, this is the FIRST movie I've ever had this difficult of a time with... I don't think it's the drive... I may purchase AnyDvd since Fab 5.2.2.0 does NOT work for me. And Rip It 4 Me I'm surprised, that software never failed me... it's definately a heavy duty encryption...

No it's not just you. I pointed out that the amateurs were run amok in this thread somewhere back and someone clobbered me for that statement. I'll stick by it. If you can't back up TDK with updated Fab or Any then something is wrong with your pc, other software, or the disc itself.

No arguments from me, just like any movie, all that's needed is a healthy set of software and hardware, plus a good dose of reading before posting.

Well I'm working with a Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop. My D Drive just says that it's DVD+RW on it... that's about it. What other kind of specs were you looking for? I'm not 100% sure if it is the drive, because in Dvd Decrypter it reads and recognizes The Dark Knight disc...it just freezes when it gets to VTS05; however in Rip It 4 Me and DvdFab 5.2 it doesn't load at all. I feel it's an encryption thing that my softwares are having troubles with. It could very well be just this particular copy of TDK... and maybe I need another copy of the movie to try it... thank you for your help...

if you try another copy of the movie and have the same problem my bet it is the drive
laptops are your worse choice backing up DVDs
custom built machine (the best)I never have any trouble backing up anything per my specs.
box systems dell.hp etc. (just ok)
laptops (not so good)

I can vouch for the unreliability of laptop drives, as I had one fail on me and had to get it replaced.
I now rarely rip/burn using my laptop. I have an external drive I use, or I just use my desktop for the movie.

My laptop drive is still ripping & burning as well as when it was new nearly 4yrs ago, however laptop drives do generally seem to be flimsy things; i always keep a load of external ripper and burner drives to hand just in case.
I suspect mcelano83's drive just isn't up to the job, maybe she can borrow an external drive off someone, or better still buy a cheap one to use for all future ripping duties.. it would seem that there's nothing too difficult posed by The Dark Knight judging by all the pages of success in this thread..

yes if you are going to rip/burn DVDs with a laptop you need a external ODD

I am just a junior on this board and enough already. Do as I have done in the past. Listen to the wise men such as alkohol and the other seniors. If nothing else works on TDK then it is time for a new computer upgrade. All the best my friends.
