Hi bilbo65,
I have never tried or even seen CloneDVD.
Do you use it?
What's your opinion on it !
Worth the buy, or there's a whole lot of apps that does the same job !
Thanks !

Check out Slysoft's Web site at:
http://www.slysoft.com/en/.
AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 are about all I use any more for my backup work.
A great investment of $59 IMHO.

I agree with bilbo65. CloneDVD with AnyDVD are a great combination and the package price is very good. Also my first choice for backups over a year now. The fact that AnyDVD has lifetime updates included is excellent. Just another opinion.

I'll third that since purchasing AnyDVD and CloneDVD I use it about 80% of the time now, and 60.00 for the package is reasonable. Plus AnyDVD breaks the encryptions on copyrighted CD's which is an added bonus :~)

i have used it a few times. my main problem is when movies have a lot of VTS files - it just becomes some garbled mess where you have to filter through unpteen screens to find the movies you wanna keep etc.
i still thikn shrink is the most easy to use system out there and often use if before dvd rebuilder /CCE to remove audio, set some extras as a black image etc.
clone dvd is very fast though and still outputs a good quality video.

Hi again,
When you guys use AnyDVD & CloneDVD, do you copy DVD to DVD ?
(Will/can read the source to HD 1st then burn).
I guess this is to copy DVD to Dual Layer ?
I never tryed a Dual Layer yet, I will soon !

I have used CloneDVD to copy the whole DVD or just the movie. Used it to split episodal disks, because you can split and still retain menus on both disks. It has an edit feature you just use the scissors and cut what you don't want out. You can use it to burn iso files that you have ripped with DVDDecrypter. I think it is a very versatile program and if you are buying AnyDVD it just 20.00 more. My two cents :~)

New Beta AnyDVD version posted at CDFreaks 5.2.4.1, supposed to handle Closer, sent over by Slysoft team a half hour ago.
http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=139100&page=2&pp=25
Quote: Please try this beta version. Let me know, if it fixes your problems:
http://update.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD5241.exe
5.2.4.1, 2005 06 10
- New: Added support for a new version of the "Sony ARccOS
protection" as found on "Closer" R2 (UK, German, Italian)
to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable
Sectors" (it should really work now).
- Fix: If AnyDVD was disabled, the "no drive" dialog could
be displayed.
- Fix: If AnyDVD was first disabled and then enabled within
the settings dialog, disc changes were no longer correctly
detected.
- Fix: Bug which could prevent correct backup of early Arccos
protected titles, e.g. Wrestlemania 3 (UK)
- Some minor fixes and improvements

anydvd v5.2.4.1 works like a charm, installed it and works great...have not noticed the difference between 5.2.3.1 and this new 5.2.4.1 but, hey, paid for lifetime updates, why not have the latest and greatest right? :)
i bought the combo deal as well, well worth the money in my opinion~
