As with others Xcopy brought me to this forum, it just could not copy the new Sony protection, it worked in its time, but as with everything time marches on. I read the forum for weeks and then tried out the other programs, and have been really greatful for all the time and posts members have made that give out so much information. I have tried to backup my old Xcopy backups, since I really wanted to lose the nag screen, and am surprised to find out how many errors are on the disks, since using the newer programs and good quality media, no errors are occuring.

Good old X Copy brought many of us to this site. They should have packed a note in each box with AD's site on it. Would have saved many of us a little time on the search area. We live and learn. The other half of the problem that got me here was the Khypermedia that came with X Copy as a package when I purchased my first burner. Talk about double trouble for a newbie. I kept thinking I was doing everything wrong. 15 coasters out of a 25 pack.

I feel your pain, Khypermedia was a brand I was using in my unenlightened days.

I can beat that: 20 out of 20 for coasters using Kcrappermedia.

True, but AnyDVD has pirks that Decrypter can't even touch. I still use Decrypter myself though.

Your comments are all fine and dandy. But no one has really said whether or not DVDXCOPY will work with AnyDVD program.

CloneDVD2 works very good for quality, even better than X Copy, BUT make sure you get the CloneDVD2 made by Slysoft or Elby. There is another one out there that is not affiliated with the other and it is inferior quality by far. As long as you get it from Slysoft's website you're fine.

The bad one I think comes from CloneDVD.net. I think it is listed as Clonedvd3. Stay away from it.

Anyone know how to tell what the Region code on a dvd movie is?
Perhaps properties?
XCopy International sent me a link for some new CSS encryption fix... I am a little nervous about downloading it...
I was told when I purchased it from a guy on Ebay to be careful about upgrading anything on it since the injunction....
Any words of wisdom?
Anyone put the new CSS fix on their DVDXCopy Platinum 4.0.3.8
BTW.. I can make copies of DVDX PLat with Clone CD.... And it works on other computers...

The only trouble I've had with AnyDVD was with the movie "Below". The movie would not play unless AnyDVD was disabled. This was with the original and the copy. I don't recall what version of AnyDVD I was using at the time. I haven't tried it with any later versions to see if it will play. I told SlySoft about this and they said they couldn't duplicate the problem and any time it caused problems don't use it. I think I had already figured that much out myself. It still is the best $30.00 I've spent, though.

aabbccdd: there's a trial version you can download for all those programs. I've had issues with DVD Copy 3 so I'd go with CloneDVD2, but the video quality of DVD Copy 3 is better. But if you want the best I'd go with Cinema Craft Encoder and DVD Rebuilder. It takes quite a while longer to encode a movie, but it's definitely the best.
