Well I think the PS3 will come in all three colour's that were shown at E3 on launch. But from doing our little survay here I would strongly suggest Sony to make more black PS3's for launch rather than white or silver.

Thing is though Microsoft are getting in stock problems becuase of the fact that they have two versions of the 360. People want one of those versions more then the other which means that few people are buying the other version, therefor Microsoft are producing 360s which people don't want. I rekon Sony will learn Microsofts problems and only release one version and maybe release different colours of the PS3 later.

I hope your wrong there because I can see Sony releasing the boring Silver one as it was the one they used as thier main console showing.
If that is the case I will definatly be waiting to buy my PS3 and will wait until the nice black version comes out. I think 2 stupid moves from Microsoft are 1)releasing it in Japan before Australia and relieving stock problems in the US 2)releasing 2 versions of the 360, one being the core and the other being the premium. Microsoft should have done the 2nd point but a year or two down the line. The people that buy the 360 at launch are the hardcore gamers so they will obviously want the premium pack. The people that buy it 2 years down the line are more of the casual gamer and the mums and dads for thier children, thats when microsoft should have released the core package.
Sony on the other hand will most likely (going by thier past) release just a core package with console, controler and demo. It will most likely come in the one colour (silver) to begin with, although if I was Sony I would carry out a survay on the hardcore gamer's choice of colour and release versions of different coloured PS3's in ratio to the demand for that colour.

I believe that silver is way better if they are selling it as a "media hub", since it would look better among the livingrom's electronics. Most TV's, home theaters, etc. are silver this days. Black could be a better option if they sell it as a mere game console. White is not a good color for a console. The only white console I remember was the Dreamcast and we know how that ended. Maybe it's because the japanese associate the white color to death, or something like that.

I think black would be a more unviveral colour more than Silver. Silver is a colour assossiated with technology thats going out of date next year. The new stuff coming in like LCD TV's are a shiny black like the shiny black PS3. There for it would be better for a shiny black PS3 thats just come out so it matches the new shiny black LCD/Plasma TV's that everyone will want to buy if they get a PS3 because the PS3 gives a HD signal.
With regards to the white PS3 and xbox 360 I think it will work as well. It wont work aswell as black but white gives a contrast to black which looks very nice. I have seen it before in set ups they have in in those classy furniture places. They have a black TV with a conrasting white DVD or suround sound unit or what ever they have.

I want black...Its all nice and shiny. Lol. I have a probelem with the white ones because they can get dirty easily. Like its bound to get smudged a bit. (controller wize)

I can see your point there Kookoo as I used to have a dreamcast. The Dreamcast it self does not get dirty but the controler can. I dont know what Sony will do to correct this but seeing as there are three colour versions of the system at the moment you could always go and buy a black or silver controler.
On the 360 side, you can go and buy a different coloured unofficial contoler or the new offical contoler interchangable face plates.
I think Black or White are definatly future safe colours. The colour I dont think is future safe is silver.

Same here.
But may i remind you, blakc is already a tech color, the xbox, ps2, saturn. I think white is more of a future color, or shiny black is.

the 20 and the 60 have diffrent stripe colors
its most noticable in the black 20g in stead of the siver pinstripe and wording its very dark
