As car.mike said probably your media for playback issue. You can also post the last Nero log and we can take a look and see what's going on - it gives some useful info.
If using nero6 is can be found here:
program files>ahead>nero>noerhistory.log
or for Nero 7:
program files>nero>nero7>core>nerohistory.log
Be sure to edit out you serial #.

Look in my above post - more than likely your hd in the c drive. Go to my computer and click on local disc(c:) then follow the path. The serials are in the the log - usually begin w/ 1A - there's like 27 characters long.

Below are the errors:
1. Nero Version: 6.6.0.13

See if you can update to version 6.6.0.18 BUT go no higher as there is a problem w/ 6.6.1.4
2.Recorder: <_NEC DVD+-RW ND-6500A> Version: 202C
If that unit is in a Dell then you need to update to vrsion 203D. Below is the site you can update from or you can do it at the Dell site

Here's a link for nero 6.6.0.18:
http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
One other thing you can check is you aspi. May not even be an issue. In Nero Toolkit go to InfoTool then click on aspi tab - make sure is doesn't say corrupted.

Thank you sooooooooooooo very much guys, im did all you have suggested besdies updating Nero as i causes major problems for me. In the last part of your post, Car Mike, you say that there might be an error with the burner, where in the log does it say that, as i need to show it to the dell tech. support so they can replace the burner if they need too. Also you said that the unit is not getting info from the computer, but i can still explore the dvd and open the video_ts files one by one to view? Does this mean its not the burner prb.?
Thanks you both so much for your help.

Below is the error you wanted. This can be caused by many things such as the MOBO has a short, Cable frayed, Burner lens going out, Burner dying. Bad card connection , bad Blank media Mid code, Bad blank media. As you see it can be anything but the computer is telling the burner to get ready and the burner is not ready.

To try and rule out a bad drive - Pick up some quality media - those tdk's are not always so good and may be your reason. Instore buy verbatim or made in japan only fuji or sony.
Then try shrink again but burn w/dvddecrypter. You can download it from here:
http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ You just pick the option to burn w/ decrypter once you click back up under select target device.
Before your start though open decrypter go to mode>iso>write - in the bottom right hand of the prog pick 4x than close. Now open shrink and start the process - shrink will open and burn w/ decrypter once that option is picked.
Let's us know how this turns out.

You're welcome. Did you try different media? If not let us know how it turns out.
On the fly is a little risky and can cause burn failures. It's better to save to the hard drive 1st then copy. On the fly does burning in real time so if the source disc has an error there's goes the burn.
DVD43 is okay but conflicts with several other programs like decrypter, fab decrypter and anydvd. The easiest and fastest way to copy movies w/ good quality imo is anydvd and clonedvd. This combo will handle any copy protection out there but it's not free - 21 day free trial though.
DVD43 is also a little buggy and is not updated as often as anydvd.
But's lets get you burning again!

JesusC,
I agree w/ binkie7. You can try his programs ( which are excellent) or try the freeware method I told you about. DVDFAB Decrypter is updated alot quicker that DVD43. On the Fly burning is really iffy. It is better like binkie7 stated to lay the files on the HD first and then do the movie.
