The reason, they changed it was it was getting criticised way too much, and the pressure got to them...
The reason they had that controller in the 1st place was because they wanted a more ERGONOMICAL shape, its easier to hold, and more comfortable(i'm not sure WHERE i heard that, but I'm SURE that i heard it, ill try n find a link..)

well i have to agree with rihgt on that one, it was different and for people with larger hands it was just like packman said, "more ERGONOMICAL shape, its easier to hold, and more comfortable." i may be the minority but its a damn controller, and i'd rather have something that is comfortable.

That controll definately looked stupid by that last picture. Sony would have lost the war to Microsoft had they issued thatone. Dual Shock 2 rules. Why mess with perfection

Does anyone think that the motion sensor thing, will interfere with some games. Cause people naturally move around when they play, so for sport games, when you wave the controller, will the players move?
Or will it only be compatible for SOME games, like first person shooters, and Fighter Pilot games? If it affects the gameplay on sports games, then it will be quite a -.

as far as i know the motion sensor as of now is only incorporated in a few games, and for all we know maybe you can even disable it if you want.

with all this talk about motion sensor, its too bad that sony or someone hasnt come out and said there is going to be an adapter that would allow you to hook up your ps2 controller to the ps3. i mean we could do that with the ps2 because the ports were the same, but we couldnt use them on our newer games becuase they used the analog functions that werent on my original ps controllers. so i guess im just wondering if this is too farfetched??? or if it is plausible then boy would it shoot down the motion sensor talk.

i'm upset cause i heard the controller was VERY light but i like the controllers heavy if they are to light the feel cheap.

They're supposedly a lotlighter than the DualShock2. The reason is that they got rid of the rumble feedback. Apparently it takes a little getting used to but after a few times playing with it, you hardly notice it.

i have a few points
the boomerang looked huge and bad, felt good dont know how heavy it was
the "dual shake" is the classic shape and is very light
i dont know about you guys but i would hate to be flinging around a heavy controller
this might have been a rumor but it said that
not all games will use the x-y-z and for some games it will be possable to turn off

it is better that they wait so they don't have 500 people on the waiting list and can start selling them to people walking in faster

Quote: Not boasting or anything, but Xbox/X360 controllers are alot more comfortable than PS2/3 controllers.......
Agreed. The Dual Shock had been my favorite controller of all time until I used a 360 controller for a little while. It's the perfect controller for adult male hands IMO. While the Dual Shock is/was great, it's a bit small for my hands.

id father have a controller with decent weight so its not like paper in my hands. i like to feel like im holding something. it builds more man-game connection.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...
