DVDFAB Decrypter (FREE, 12 minutes to rip) + VobBlanker (FREE, 5 minutes to process and take out unwanted junks) should be able to rip this movie flawlessly. Yes, I've done it and it's easy as sippin' on a Corona.
The reason why you're having problem is because you're running AnyDVD against (while) ripping with DVDFAB Decrypter. You can't have both of them running at the same time cause they'll definitely "conflict" one another, and therefore you're getting nowhere. Fact is... DVDFAB Decrypter is already a ripper. Either simply use AnyDVD or DVDFAB Decrypter alone and you should be fine.

Hi Alkohol ,
Can you tell me what i nned to do with VOB blankker as i tried different things and i cant get it right . Im tryin to back up UltraViolet , I have Fabbed it but when i load it to VOB Blankker im not sure what to take out or blank or skip (I've tried different blanks or skips but it still wont analize on shrink ), any help you can give me would be grateful i always look for your advice as you always seem to describe what to do in full and it always works . again thank you for any help .

AnyDVD and Shrink, burn with Nero does work most assuredly. Nero Recode freezes though. Shrink gets main movie only to 90%.

Well I watched the movie, I would never post a solution if I didn't watch the movie first to ensure it works. That combo works for everybody else, can't say what you are doing wrong but if you got it with shrink instead of CloneDVD, good for you, at least you got it. Excellant flick.

I tried to back up this movie with DVDfab decrypter 2979 it locks up at the end of the movie and never gives you the finished message.
Ihit cancel and went in and looked at the files, they all appear to be there.
I can watch the movie on the PC fine but when i try to burn it with shrink, Nero,CloneDVD i get the same message on all of them that it can't open because some files are missing.

the same freeze with dvdfabdecrypter 2729 happened for me the first time i ran it through fabdecrypter. it hung up on vts 16... the dvd drive was making a light clicking sound every two seconds or so. i looked in the files of the original dvd and there is no vts 16. hmmmm? i came back a few hours later, tried it again, and it worked just fine! ran it through VOB blanker, then used shrink and Nero and got a full backup copy. also, i had earlier tried to burn the vobblanker output files with clonedvd2, and it worked without error, but the main movie was not there, just the "extras". that's why i tried the shrink route (using the same vobblanker output files), and it worked. go figure.

Yep, when it came time to burn the movie with shrink (Nero engine), the engine errored out. I just took the video files that shrink produced and manually burned them using the actual Nero program. My biggest problem was just getting the movie to re-encode or ripped in Shrink, DVD Decypter, and cloneDVD2 using AnyDVD in the background. I can tell you for sure though the latest version on AnyDVD was not getting rid of all the copy protection, I couldn't even get the DVD to open with shrink just running AnyDVD in the background. So that error you got, is probably related to you just using the AnyDVD in the background with Shrink. The key for me was DVD Region CSS, it gets rid of the Sony Structure Protection that AnyDVD was not successfully doing alone.
Try using DVD Region CSS also with AnyDVD and Shrink. That's what ended up working for me. That Nero problem you had is weird though. I'm finding myself using CloneDVD2 more and more over Nero to burn re-encoded video files. Nero just acts really weird for me now whenever I'm burning video files in general.

That problem you described with the backup only producing the extras, previews and menus is the same problem I had using mcmenance's solution. It's the file structure protection embedded in the DVD...it removes the movie structure in an effort to remove the protection with CloneDVD, AnyDVD, and Region DVD CSS. If you use Shrink with AnyDVD and Region CSS. I guarentee it'll work

You misread my post. I had no trouble burning the disc with AnyDVD and Shrink and Nero biruning. No problems. Nero recode would not do it, but Shrink did. The compression was 90%(movie only) not that it stopped at 90%.

well AnyDVD 6.0.1.1 + clonedvd2 2.8.9.9 + dvd region css free 5.9.7.9
worked just fine for me. backed up in <30 mins, and yes, the ENTIRE disk was there. Don't know why it won't work for you but the main thing is you got it. I have yet to run in to a movie the combo I listed wont get and I have backed up more than 900 (I have a list). Shrink is great, especially when making multiple back-ups of the same movie, then you can speed things up by backing up from the cleaned up files on the HDD, but slower than CloneDVD for a single copy. Occasionally I will use VOB blanker if it looks like it will help, but don't need it that often, and only to improve things.

Hey guys!
Im having problems with UltraViolet too.
I rip to my harddrive with DvdFab
What program do I use to back it up onto a dvd....?
DVD Decrypter? ( what are the steps with decrypter if so)
I normally use shrink & decrypter with all other movies & they do excellent. With this one I had to use dvdfab& it created a audio & video file.
please help me out.......

No offence, but if you take the time to read thru the thread, your question will be answered several times over and you can "chose your poison". adydvd.latest, w/cloneDVD2.latest w/region free css.latest will copy the movie

You can d/l a free trial full version @
http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html
just install it and it starts itself and runs "in the background" striping away the protection on-the-fly while the program copies. Not much you have to do with it, thats one of the many nice things about it.

If you downloaded the trial program, you got the use of the whole program for 21days; after that it will not function without paying. It's the best money you will ever spend on software. It will make your life easier and comes with lifetime free upgrades. After you install the program a red fox head appears near the clock, lower right. When you place a DVD into your drive the disc is read and the fox head fades in color and then back to red. It has done its work without you doing anything. It has fooled the pc into thinking the disc is NOT copy-protected. Now you may use any program you want to backup your disc. It also has a ripper function built-in (accessed thru right click on fox.) It will also protect your pc from nasty root kit malware that Sony put on their audio cds.

Please please someone help me back up this movie (ultraviolet)
I am having soooo many problems with it.
I have used AnyDVD and shrink & decrypter nothing is working.
I get an error message after decrypter reached 99%.....lol
Then if I select the file in decrypter, it says theres not enought room on the disk?

Ok, i got the movie to work with DVDfab decrypter 2979.
when i try using clone dvd to burn the movie i only get the extras so then i tried shrink and it worked great except the audio won't work.
any suggestions.
