Quote: Many people tend to forget the Blue-Ray factor. Kojima likes to push it so no doubt he'll be using ps3s full ability to use the mass storage of a brd to help the game stream levels and such off the disk.
That particular ability is because of the ps3's HD, not Blu-ray.

It wont really bother me getting up and changing the disk if MGS 4 comes on the 360 (which is unlikely to happen) no one ever seemed to be bothered when you had to change disk for Final Fantasy for Ps1.
I mean are we that much of lazy a** to not get up and change the disk which only takes like what 5 seconds. well thats all i had to say.
Peace!!!!

yes you have a points, but is it really cost effective in the long run to have to produce 4 disks for every game by the time the 360 reaches it's lifespan, when one HD-DVD disk would fit all the data...

Quote: well firstly, looking at the graphics of mgs4 i see nothing special (not like crysis) so xbox 360 can handle the graphics,
what do you mean its nothing special,i dont understand .....lol...it has the best graphics of any ps3 video ive seen*(assuming the killzone video is fake, which it prob is*)...where i had to blink a couple extra times when i first saw it because it looked convincing...
yeah it probly is not up to scratch with crysis, which is just dam impressive....but i dont see why after a year or so , when developers have gotten used to programming and wat not for the ps3 , that a game of such graphical power such as crysis cant be made for the ps3.....just my opinion....but i still think ur off ur rocker for sayin mgs4 is nothing special

mgs4 looks fantastic and will be fantastic. anyone who feels otherwise instead of arguing how about someone put a few links to trailers so people could see the comparisson of games people think are on par with mgs4. i am actually curious myself, and naturally i would, but i have yet to see ANY 360 title that is comparible

"but i still think ur off ur rocker for sayin mgs4 is nothing special"
i think its great graphics, like you said best on ps3, but when i use special i mean it, and for me only crysis has that.
"but i have yet to see ANY 360 title that is comparible"
fare enough, but in my opinion halo 3, gears of war and mass effect all have comparible graphics, and i think (opinion) that if mgs4 does look better then its probably b/c the vids released used real time graphics, still does not mean it will play like that, it will obviously look normall and i just think that those vids show it from a cinematic view which i supose makes it look more interesting.
i mean i would have loved to see master cheif launch out of a ship turn mid air and shoot a rocket right back at it, it would deffinatly been more comparable then.
but whater i think all i know is that mgs4 does look great and is a must buy for ps3.
PS3 specs may look better than xbox 360 but i am yet to see a game on the PS3 that looks better than any of the top end xbox 360 games such as gears of war, mass effect and halo 3.

interesting:
Quote: PlayStation 3 version of Virtua Tennis 3 will be supporting 1080p, and that it looks much better than the Xbox 360 version, which will display in 720p.
sure people need a set large enough with supporting 1080p res, but still proves that games, (not all) will support 1080p output.

here is another game that is quite popular as well. it happens to be heavenly sword. here is an interview with producer mat hart:
Quote: In the E3 demo there wasn't a player-controlled camera. How much work have you put into the camera to make sure it doesn't get in the way?
We take camera very seriously, we've put a lot of effort into it. We've used in-house tools that we developed ourselves and given them to our designers for maximum flexibility and maximum tweakability. To give the player a really cinematic feel, just a little tweak of just a couple of degrees makes all the difference, and our designers are able to do that, and they go through and make sure every single camera is great. Now having said that, the power of the PlayStation 3 controller, with the motion control, has opened a massive amount of possibilities, and we're really excited about those and are going to exploit those. Eventually, camera could be a very intriguing thing with motion control.
should be interesting how this game incorporates motion conrol
Quote: So you've had quite a while to work on the PS3 hardware, and you've probably learned a lot even just since E3. How has the experience been developing for the PS3?
It's been great! To be fair, I've not had anything to compare it with, because we're only developing for PS3, this is a PS3 exclusive. I can't comment on other SKUs or anything like that. But certainly we've found Sony to be a fantastic partner to work with. The actual architecture of the console, the power of the PlayStation 3, is what gives us the ability to give you an environment that's alive, a combat system that gives a unique experience, and a story, an emotionally driven, character-driven story, that pulls you through the game.
if you read what he said, it seems that the ps3 is a manageable system to program for, and apparantly has had a good experience. here is the link to the rest of the interview. its a decent read and should give some people a little insight about this game.
