yes ofcourse, heating shouldnt be a problem,as long as u have good ventilation.i mean sony has had alot of testing time, heating should not be an issue at this point, you defianantly will not call the ps3 a rushed release like the 360.At least this time round people won't have return their ps3's the same day they bought it like with the 360 release...

You serious?
I love the ps controller, from the first day i had my ps1,i just loved how it fits perfectly into your hand and very confortable, now there saying the ps3 controler is infact very light, which will make it even more comfortable,i'm loving the ps controller more every day.But i must say i ahted the xbox controller,it's so big and uncoftable, but the 360's controller isnt to bad actually(quite nice) but the ps3 controller i still think is better.

Ok I like think sony's controler is the best but everyone has a different opinion. Anyways the ps3 might only overheat if it is played for like hours and hours on end....

I'm kinda in the middle as far as the PS3 controller goes. I certainly have no problem with it, though i do prefer the 360's controller. The DuelShock2 style is great i just wish they would redesign it, give it a new sparkle, if you will, to go along with the new design of the system. IDK, if they leave it the way it is, the controler will perform well, it will just seem a little dull next to the flashy system.

the only reason they didn't put in rumble is because they lost the lawsuit against the dude who supposedly created the technology. Microsoft apologized and gave him some money, Sony said F*** You and lost...

yeah they lost that law suit I think but they also might make up with them I hope lol but they said that if they add the rumble with the 6axis it would be to high . check this out because I'f they make it im going to buy a 3rd party one because this sound tight , its veryyy sad and lets you know about the new rumble stick . I think Sony should make a deal with them or somethin or pay them 9 million for it to settle
Immersion's Second Generation of Rumble Emerges
Our cerebral older siblings over at Extreme Tech take a look at some of the changes that controller-shaking company Immersion intends on making with its next version of rumble tech.
From Extreme Tech: "According to the company, Immersion's next-generation TouchSense technology will provide better control over the "rumble," the vibration that the controller gives off during a computer game during various events. The new TouchSense technology will offer positional vibration, according to company executives, as well as a wider range of effects."
As of right now, Sony has abandoned rumble technology in its controllers in favor of motion-sensing. Logic places part of that abandonment beside the lawsuit Immersion filed with Sony which alleges that the company used Immersion's tech to make the PlayStation controllers rumble (Immersion has since helped Microsoft's Xbox 360 controllers rumble).
Last month, Immersion refuted claims that Sony couldn't get both Immersion and motion sensing technology into the same controller, speculating that they'd be more than willing to help Sony vibrate -- if the company ponied up the $90M it owes from the Immersion lawsuit (Sony is appealing the ruling).
The Extreme Tech article points out that this new rumbling, TouchSense, will allow the actuator inside to be rotated, allowing for what amounts to "positional damage" on the controller, i.e. if a player takes gunfire from the left side, the left side of the controller can vibrate to simulate this. The new TouchSense vibration will also be able to rumble at different frequencies, as Extreme Tech points out, it would be able to hum like a lightsaber or have staccato bursts like a machine gun.
All i know is this If they can make (both) I'd let them do it I dont care how high the controller is its gone rock! id pay 60 dollars for a stick with 6axis and this new age rumble feature

that does seem a bit better than plain old rumble. certainly i'd like the best of both worlds on this one, but i am not too sure it'll happen too soon...

my 2 cents on the controllers..
ps3:
i like it, im used to it. but i dont like the hinging of the L2 and R2 buttons. thats lame. the light weight is criticized but its good for long gaming sessions mush like light shoes are made for walking/running.
xbox 360:
comfortable, but the design doesnt please me. it's kinda like and amorphous blob. also, a dyslexic blob. i say that because whats up with the unsymmetrical analog sticks? that as the most retared idea microsoft ever introduced. it is so uncomfortable and potentially cramping for me and many a friend of mine. (same complaints from the xbox)
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

yeah Hade I am for it as well I just wish Sony would swallow there pride and make a deal , immersion said they can combine them and make them pretty cheap but even if they dont I bet we will see 3rd party sticks and if we do I will have me one! lmfao I was gone make a thread on this but mm nahh its to much info floatin around to keep up lol .
@ anubis I havent play with the 360 stick but I played with the xbox one I think there stick is a fps stick but I like it for those . Now fightin games ummm nooo way the ps2 stick is perfect for those which is mainly what I play and platformers, thats why I choose the ps2 over the xbox but I will get one for halo . Oh yeah I hate the L and R buttons on the ps2 I broke so many of those with Tekken, Def jam, Dbz games so im glade they redone them for the Ps3

THe no rumble feature is a complete joke. ITs going to suck playing games like Call of Duty when you can't feel the gun shake. Its just lame.

i mentioned in another thread something along thesae lines..
i really could care less over the vibration as long as i have half decent sound system. with a sound system, you and feel the sounds and know where the bullets are coming from. does vibration let you know where they ware coming from? i dont believe real life vibrates at you either..usually ;)

apologies regarding my language, I thought it would sensor it automatically.
I don't know why ppl are so fascinated with rumble. So you get hit, the controller rumbles... whooo! amazing!1111
It just annoys me, and I give heads-up to sony for getting rid of it (lawsuit or now lawsuit), and implementing the cool tilt feature.
But technically speaking, rumble and vibrate CAN be easily done, regardless what the Sony reps want you to believe.

yes, it can. but it would cost more and im sure the tilt mechanism isnt the cheapest componant. plus the weight from the vibrators would hinder long gameplay that involves tilting.

Don?t count the days it just
Makes it seem longer.
Personally am kind of worried about ps3
Because we all know that sometime if u what
Something so badly it?s very likely to turn
Out a disappointment.
Is ps3 going to be a disappointment?
