can someone please explain to me why there will be HUGE lines of people waiting to get a PS3? Obviously, only the first 4 or 5 of them are going to be successful, but why the hell are there going to be like 200 people out there, freezing their asses off?

Ok what do you mean first 4-5 people are going to be successful? I know 400,000 PS3's are going to be released in the US the 17th. So how many 360's were released in US? There were about 18-30 360's first day per store. Where I live if I am there first I can have them all. Do you guys think it will be released thurday the 16th at midnight so friday morning the 17th?
In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present.

Your right more then 4-5 people are going to be successful. But I think that he is trying to say is that not all the people who wait in the line will get a ps3.

Their will be a limit to one per costumer unless you go with more then one person.

Well I guess it all depends on the store if they are open or if they are going to all the trouble and if they want to make money right away or even if they get the system right away (like some stores that are not chain's may not get them at the exact time even though most of the stores would get them ahead).

Darn the day they come out is a school night. That's no problem. The prob is I like to go to best buy after midnight and wait til they open at 8am. But i have never missed a day of school or been late. I'm just gonna have to rely on my walmart and the four people in my family i bring to be the first 4 so I get 3 consoles to sell and one for me.

Solution 2: Get it on aa school night and go to school tired or abit late
Solution 3: Rely on your ps3 pre-order

face123: No, no more than 4 or 5 people are going to be successful per store like Best Buy.
So the USA launch is supposed to have 400,000 PS3's. How many 360's were in circulation during launch in USA (I know that 10% of them were on ebay).

lol damn that I wont wait outside in the cold for four days if I dont get it on the 17th then the 19th you know what comes out so im gone have a next gen console . then I will wait for the second Dec. wave of Ps3's which might be a bitch since you wont know what time they come in plus christmas craze . I dont know I might pay a worker at Target to secure me one the day before launch and just go at 7 am to get it . We do have a Super Target that is open 24h a day but the one by me is not . I want to know who would have the most selection of them , Best buy , Walmart , Target or ebgames ,or Toysrus.I stay in Indiana so I know either we will get a few or a nice pinch of a few since I stay in a small city lmao or none maybe big citys will be the only ones to get them .

Ok at my walmart in a city of 6000 no one showed up there til 7pm. I'll be there around 1pm before the employees like last time. Also I will preorder, and my parents will and sis who live in the town of the best buy will go there for me. So i am set win win.

wow...."each and every game..." why don't you post us some links supporting your claim? the games i saw at TGS looked very nice and this would be the first i've heard on the subject. so i'll hope we have some links tomorrow stating every game is having problems and total gaming development has gone to hell. if you heard it from a friend, do your fingers a favor and don't bother telling us. oh and don't post old crap stating the ps3 is hard or harder to develop for when compared to other consoles...

yes there was overheating problems, sony has though said it was just the overall temp in the building and that this won't occur when it is released, but it sounds fishy...i mean how hot was the building, like 110 degress F inside? what about air condition...mmm?

well i think the systems were in close proximity to one another, people's body heat, improper ventillation and also having them constantly running are a few factors that come to mind that could contribute to overheating issues. as long as it doesn't sound like the 360 which was almost as loud as a vacuum, i'll be happy. i am being a bit dramatic, but a friend's 360 was extremely loud when i played it, back in december of 2005.

Sony will resolve the overheating issues, unlike ms who dosn't care, they just release everything to the public and let people suffer through all the bugs.
