thanks, just logged in also. Couldn't play Battlefield 2 though. Nothing to do with the update just the fact that EA servers suck.

I just updated and I can't seem to get the video sharing to work. Arg!! The new options are present so you can browse to any device but it just says "No videos found". Can anyone confirm this as working?
......
Ok managed to get it working by ripping a DVD to WMV and now playing a clip from my PC over wireless network to 360 which is wired. Quality of encoding is really bad so trying again to rip a dvd clip. I'll report back.
Can anyone advise on the best DVD to WMV program?

All fine for me too. Basically the problems I've been seeing is those with MS28 not using the latest 4.1b firmware or those with MS25 who used 4.1a which is based off of MS28 firmware. I'm off to play my back ups on live just like I was pretty sure I would be doing after this update.

so you are saying if you could get a pre modded xob 360 with hd and all the bits for £200 you would turn it down and spend £300 then mod it your self.
dont think so

My drive's a Hitachi. I just got it modded about a month ago. I'm not sure what type of mod the modder used, but he said it was a version of the Xtreme Update Gary Opa that his partner modified a little.
SHould it be safe for me to go and and get the update?

Yeah, all Hitachi's are safe. This update didn't brick systems. Only a certain firmware for a certain drive was affected. More than likely, it was issues with the actual update itself seeing as how some people with non modded 360's claim to be bricked now.

Even though the mod on mine is modified a little? I just wanna be sure lol. Hey, do you guys have to do some trick with the HDTV switch to run backups?
Bricked 360's? that's freakin' ridiculous.

What about the possiblity that there is a ban embedded into the update somewhere, and that they're just waiting to activate it? you reckon it's a possibility?

Well, it doesn't sound like this was an attempt on MS's part to stop firmware hacking.

well i dont think the new update had anything to do with the samsung drives not working correctly. becuase there have been reports of non flashed drives not working either. so its a hit and miss thing i guess, because mine was flashed with 4.1a and it worked perfect after the update this morning.
