Yeah, just turn on your ps2 and go to the browser, select the memory card in slot 1 and it should tell you the free space in the top left-hand corner of the screen. If you use the method I gave you, it only takes up about 100kb or so, unlike others which can take up over a megabyte.

I figured it was a dumb question. Don't know how I missed it when I looked for it. Thanks

On a side note, I emailed thegiantstore and they replied and said they were sending me a new disk, lets see how that workds out.
Do you have to send yours back? I'm trying to get a new Swap Magic myself. I bought a Coder and it sucks. It doesn't work very well. But I don't wanna go through the trouble of sending the disc back.

I would like a private message if you are still sending these out. I google cogswap, but apparently get old pages as they tell me to download programs and link to dead web pages so I can't. So I guess I am stuck for now.

thanks for the private message, so far, so good, til I get to the point of using the swap magic CD version. It comes up on the load program screen, but no matter which I press, X or the Square, it goes to the browswer, and I choose the blue disk and repeat. Any ideas anyone?

DUH, I feel dumb, I still had the swap magic disk in when I pressed the load program button. I see now I have to swap the disk then hit the button.

Sleeper43 , have you not got anyone else you know with a PS2 that you can try your 2nd copy of swapmagic that they sent you?.
There were really an awful lot of these 3.6 versions that came in from China that didnt read on most PS2s .
I would if I were you try this route and check for sure if this new copy is actually working first on another PS2.
The 3.6 swapmagic should load on all PS2s as it is a "pressed" dvd , if it doesnt load on yours and the dvd is fine then your ps2 laser is an unlikely candidate for playing the burnt dvds later on .
You might be best checking your swap dvd on a mates seen as the cd works ok , there is achance they have not replaced it as it MAY have worked in another PS2 that they had.
Most but not all of the "bad batch" have a 1cm mark towards the centre if it has this or doesnt load on another PS2 ask them to swap it again or use another supplier ..
By the way you dont have to install the switches tools in your mates PS2 to check if the swap dvd works just put it in and see if it loads to the boot screen (although you would be unable to try a copy game in your mates without the switches enabled this will at least tell you if the SWAP dvd is ok now)

will try a dif PS2 tomorrow.
In the meantime, I think I burned the disk for cogswap wrong, I burned a data cd with Nero and just burned the bin file. The Compiler created 3 files.

Bump this up... anyone have any feedback if I made my disk for the cogswap exploit correctly?
I didn't have a chance to try out my 2 defective SwapMagic DVDs in a different PS2 yet.

Honestly folks if ur SWAP MAGIC DVD dont boot/run and ur SWAP MAGIC CD DOES RUN SIMPLY
1.BOOT SWAP MAGIC CD
2. PRESS "EJECT" ON PS2 (YES, PRESS THE ACTUAL BUTTON BELOW RESET)
3. ON YOUR TV IT SHOULD SAY "Please Insert Bigger TOC"
4. Remove your "SMAP MAGIC CD" AND REPLACE WITH "DEVIL MAY CRY OR VICE CITY:GTA"
5. CLOSE TRAY
6. ON TV SAYS "PLEASE WAIT REFRESHING TOC"
7. Once refreshed it says "Ready to Swap"
8. Use SWAP KEY OR SWITCH and SWAP UR GAME WITH UR BACKUP
7. THEN BOOT!
Please no more gay stuff about the complex cogswap. Follow these steps it adds only 8 secs more to boot a game

I have the same problem with my swap magic 3.6 dvd and have tried doing just as you said a few times and it does not work on my slim ps2, All i get is "Please insert disc with big toc" or whatever and when i insert gta dn close it gta keeps loading and it says invalid disc in the bottom of the swap magic menu. For the past few days i have been using my swap magic 3.6 cd version disc, then i load cdloader 7 all, then gta vice city and then i insert my DVD-R backup.

Yeah it's original and works fine when i use that same method on cdloader... it also has no scratches or anything, I've seen people mention that method before but i could never get it to work on swap magic lol oh well loading cdloader doesn't bother me much plus a few backups require zoneloader or cdloader for use from what i read on swapmagicfix.com anyway so it's cool, Thanks for the tips though (everyone) =)
