Anyone tried any PS2 mods on the PS3 yet?? I would have tried if i had one dammit.
Like HDLoader or USBextreme?? Playing ur PS2 games right off the PS3 HDD would be nice wouldnt it?
Since PS3 have 2.0 USB then USBextreme wouldnt be completely useless anymore.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

is a good idea but they design the ps3 like the psp with the firmwire versions so when ever new games are released and can go online u will need the lastest firmwire to do so. jus like the psp, maybe the new mod wuld be like a emulator for firmwire, with a mod-chip for burn Blu-ray and run games from internal HDD like the xbox. that wuld be sick

sry n forgot to say another possibilty is complete re-flash the whole ps3, thats almost like mod chip, but psp style no modchip in it jus flashing the ps3 by itslef.

init some sikk points!!!! but ppl would need to downgrade there verion adn struff right. liek the xbox anbd psp! so dnt go upgrading just yet!

If you dont upgrade there wil be problems with you ps3. When there is a mod chip it wont matter if it is upgaded or not.

I'm thinking there will be a hardware (modchip) solution before softmod because of the programming dificulties presented by the Cell, but then again I really don't know too much about the cell and the programming languages it reads.

Modchips gt overridden all the time,lets not forget all the bans for Live and such sony will do soemthign of the like however they can make very ahrd to detect chip it will take longer for them to make it tho.

My point guys PS3 is a very Hard system to crack dont look for a working Mod til Next summer.Then on top of that You still got to have a Blu-ray Burner to burn these game & the burner cost 750-1000 U.S.dollars.For US to backup game and save money dont look for a good and cheap working method til the end of 07 or first of 08.Just enjoy the system in the mean time plus if you dont have the money for Games rent them.

I was merely trying to say don't expect any moding news worth anything until march - june.
thats when we will know if its going to be a year+ or not to "break" it.

yea i can grantee not until a yr into it since the ps2 took around 8-10 months to do it, n plus when we actually can crack it, theres no point, it will be the first shitty mod jus like the ps2 first mod, i wuld wait until is like a plug n play thing wit the mod. but i wuld luv to get the first versions/models out then if they actually crack or mod it will most likely be based on the first version or model

What about PS2 games? Is there a way to play backed up PS2 games on the PS3? I'm doubting it..Do you think there ever will be?
