@knockemv2 - Your problem seems to be unknown to me. Maybe you can help me to help you by providing some of the following information:
1. What dashboard do you have on your xbox?
2. When you click on the trainer, are you able to select some options; or does the screen that has 'Halo 2' just stay there?
3. Are you using a Halo 2 disk that is on your HD or on disk?
4. Are you trying to use the Killtrocity Map Pack from your HD?
5. When did you download and install the trainer?
6. What do you mean by being able to change the 'stuff'?
7. Did you correctly place the config_v1.5.inc file?
8. Are you drives the same as the ones listed below (for your xbox):
D:/ CD Drive
E:/ Hard Drive
And once again, I can't stress this enough! Check the tutorial and walk yourself through it again!
Let me know the answers to the above questions.

@knockemv2 - Right there's your problem. The Halo 2 you are loading is the Killtrocity Map Pack. Since Killtrocity loads off of the regular Halo 2 Cache; trainers won't work. The only way you can use the Killtrocity Map Pack with the trainer is to use Killtrocity from a CD. To do this, you must create an ISO and burn it to DVD. Otherwise, you have to erase Killtrocity.
If you want to know how to burn the ISO for Killtrocity, here's a nice little link.

Well...all the files total a little over 2GB in size; so you need a DVD. Either that or about 6-8 CD's (Because you need certain files that will be copied multiple times on each CD).
Sorry about your luck.

@kappie11 - If you've read all of the posts so far, you would notice that we were originally using the trainer from the HDD; however, then the question of whether or not we could use a disk for the Trainer came up and we found that it is indeed possible to use a trainer on both the HD copy and the disk copy.
So, to simplify this answer; yes, it is possible to use trainers and load games from your HHD. I would recommend DVD2Xbox to copy the games to your HDD; and if you did everything properly, you should have no problems at all!

@kappie11 - Ok, since you brought up the fact that your layout is wack...do me a favor and I can help you.
I'm going to need you to send me a list of your layout for you Xbox HDD. In other words; send me a text file (in notepad or wordpad) that would look something like this:
/E/Apps
/E/backup_linux
/E/BiosLD
/E/CACHE
etc...
Now, you don't have to include any file names or such. Just list the directories and what you may have in them. Just be creative when making the list. If you do this, I should be able to help you by either fixing the problem or sending you a different version of the files...

@kappie11 - Ok, looks like you have a few problems...
1. Nothing should be in your F directory; the only directories that should have files are C and E (and D if a disk is in the xbox). But this isn't why the screenshottool isn't working.
So here it is:
You've put a map in the /E/TDATA/4d5300064/$s directory and you didn't disable the automatic update feature! Just because the trainer says it can do it, doesn't mean it can. You need to rename the /E/TDATA/4d5300064/$U directory to something else!
Also, if you have a modded map (or any file) in the /E/TDATA/4d5300064/$s directory it won't work. It uses this folder to copy the screenshots to, and will overwrite the files in there that match the file size.
If you don't mind me asking, why would you have a map in there anyways? If you have your own map, it should be in the /E/games/halo 2/maps/ Directory (unless for a different game).
So, the only way I can see to fix this problem:
1. Disable Auto-Update
2. Move the map!

Just name it like -$u- or something. Like I said, ANYTHING else.
Like I said, the disable autoupdate feature on the trainer doesn't work.
Even if you have a different xbox, should be the same.
You don't need to copy Halo 2 to your HDD, you only have to if you want to use the multiplayer map pack.
I will state again, this trainer cannot be used with the multiplayer map pack unless you copy the maps to your HDD.
Read again, I asked you nothing about $C and $U! I asked you about F and such drives.
If you want further help, you'll have to do the following:
1. Speak/Type better English!
2. Read what I post instead of skimming through it!

I used your tutorial and downloads and still... I cannot seem to get mine to work. I don't understand what I am doing wrong.
I go into the trainer and disable autoupdate and I also went into the folder /E/TDATA/4d5300064 to change $U to something else... BUT in /E/TDATA/4d5300064 there is no $U directory?? I don't understand why you would have it I do not. But if you have to rename it to anything else anyway, I can't see why it would matter if I do or do not have it. I turn on some of the cheats I want to use like Heal and Amo and some others. I then Save and Exit.
Next I go to the Apps menu to run the trainer program. A window comes up with:
Halo 2
PxHDDLoader
And some red wrighting down the bottom.
I selected "Halo 2" but my screen just flashes for half a second and the menu stays there... I tried pressing start at first, then the A button. Nothing. X button obviously works, but disables the trainer.
So instead I tried using the disc. Restarted my X-Box, made sure all the settings in the trainer were the same. Went to the trainer program menu and inserted the Halo 2 disc, it pops up. I select it and the same thing happens. I have tried this multiple times, from the HDD and the DVD and nothing seems to work...
Do you have any idea what is wrong? If so ANY help at all would be apretiated.
X-Box Dashboard --- EvoX -3935
When selecting trainer --- When in the Trainer menu I see Inf Heal, Amo, Skull listings etc.. etc..
Halo 2 HDD or DVD? --- I tried both off of the HDD and off of the DVD
Killtrocity Map Pack from your HD? --- No
Downloaded and install the trainer? --- 29th January 2007
All trainer files? --- I double checked all the files

Quote: BUT in /E/TDATA/4d5300064 there is no $U directory?
@DaemonMeg -
Well, you won't have the $U directory unless you've installed the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack before; which you haven't.
I've had your problem several times before, so don't worry, it can be fixed.
So, here's what I want you do:
Make sure that when you insert a disk into the xbox DVD Drive, the DVD Drive letter is D.
To do this:
1. Start your xbox, make sure it is on the EvoX dash.
2. FTP to your xbox.
3. Place a disk in the DVD tray and put the tray in the box.
4. On your FTP software, check the D drive to see if any files are in there.
Here's the second thing I want you to do:
Copy Halo 2 to your HDD and check where it's at:
1. Put DVD2Xbox on your HDD.
2. Copy Halo 2 to the /E/games/ directory using DVD2Xbox.
3. FTP to your xbox, check the /E/ directory.
4. Make sure that Halo 2 is in the /E/games/ directory.
If all of that checks out to be fine; I want you to try one more thing. I want you to erase Halo 2, and the trainer. Now, try EVERYTHING over again. Yeah, it may sound stupid, but just try. Make sure you are looking at the tutorial EVERY step of the way.
Last time I softmodded an xbox, I ended up putting some files in the wrong directory and yeah...It turns out, I would load Xored Trainer Launcher, I would see Halo 2, click on it, and the screen would flash and stay where it was.
Just let me know if what I said works, if not, don't worry, I may still be able to help!

Just had to add:
Welcome to AfterDawn, have fun! You may only be a newbie for now, but you talk good English and follow good directions and give good detail. You'll be up in the ranks before you know it! Keep it up!

Hi everyone,
I downloaded the trainer and Xored Launcher yesterday (8/2/2007) and the trainers work perfectly in multiplayer mode but if I enter a campain either single or cooperative the game screen spinns round uncontrollably making it imposible to see. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I dont have xbox live so have the fist version of Halo 2 (collectors edition) and havent got any other mods or map packs.
Heres a little info like you've been asking for in other posts:
Xbox Dashboard --- EvoX +3935
Xored --- I click 'halo 2' then 'Yelo: Halo 2' and see all the options (i disable autoupdate and enable developers mode and choose infinity health, infinity ammo ect.)
HDD or DVD --- I insert the dvd and then launch Xored
Killtrocity Map Pack --- No
Trainer files --- I have all the files in the right place
Xbox drives:
C:
\backup
\bios
\Fonts
\Skin
\Trainers
\xboxdashdata
\xodash
D: (DVD drive)
E:
\APPS (i use F:\Apps for all my others as it is bigger but created this for the tutorial)
\APPS \mini (Xored directory)
\Cache
\games (empty as i use F:\Games because it is bigger drive)
\music
\TDATA
\TDATA \4d530064 (contains only $u and config file from tutorial)
\Trainers (this didn't exist as i used C:\Trainers so the dash would see them, i created this for the tutorial so it was same drive as everything else)
\UDATA
\video
F:
\APPS
\GAMES
\MUSIC
\VIDEO
(and some system directories)
G: (empty)
Q: (just some random app directories, most look to be part of Xbox Media Center)
I've never installed any trainers myself before but have followed the tutorial up to copying the trainer but didn't continue on to copying screenshots, althoigh i did read the FAQ and no luck
Hope i've given enough information for you, if you need to know anything else just ask.

Well, you could do that; however, that is what this entire trainer is about. It's an easy fix really, just press back+dpad-up to return to normal.
In fact, for all of those wondering, here is the configuration layout:

@ZhenYevan - Unfortunately for you, the problem is not with the trainer. If you have a copied version of Halo 2 like you said, then it must be the DVD is either dirty, scratched, or the map file was messed up to begin with. But, you say it works with all of the other maps?
@Everyone Else - I have fixed the problem with some trainers not working, and only "flashing". It seems that Xored Trainer Launcher is mostly compatible with only the NTSC version of games. This is untested; however, every time I get a trainer for the PAL version of the game, just have the trainer in the /E/Trainers/ directory will mess up all the trainers.

@ZhenYevan - Well, first off, I would recommend that you get a clean version of Halo 2 on your HDD. After that, if you follow my tutorial, it should explain perfectly well what to do. You should also make sure that you have the NTSC version of Halo 2, and not the PAL version. This cam be determined by looking at the top-right of the case. In a little box, it will either say 'NTSC' or 'PAL'. Use DVD2Xbox (link is in the tut) and copy Halo 2 to your HDD. Then you just need to follow the tutorial all the way through.
