1) the images are just thumbnails... click each image and it opens up a larger image ;)

2) DVDFab never gave any errors, and I can open the resulting dvd from dvdfab fine in any other program afterwards (i.e. DVD Shrink, Nero recode, etc)... just VobBlanker gives me error when opening it.

3) I notice that you have to locate DVDShrink and DVD Decrytpter in this RipIt4Me program. I have already tried DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter individually and neither of them worked with The Guardian.

What region is your DVD? I didn't have a problem with the movie. RI4M should have worked and now they have a new version. You do not need to do the Shrink before you open it with VobBlanker, but maybe you should let it analyze the movie before proceeding. I am not sure if this will help, but try using the free program called, "Free DVD". You can get it here: http://dvdidle.com/free.htm

The other thing is that sometimes DVDFAb says that it is complete, but there are still some problem areas. RI4M should eliminate that. Maybe try starting from scratch and re-rip the movie.

do you have any info on what that on_seq error is?? It's just wierd that I can open & compress the ripped movie (from dvdfab) in DVD Shrink or dvd rebuilder, or Nero recode WITHOUT PROBLEMS, but once I load it into VobBlanker, it gives me this wierd one_seq error that I've never seen before. I've even tried a Full Scan in VobBlanker, but it made no diff.

(btw, I changed the thumbnails in the post on page 1 so that it just has the full size errors -- no thumbs w/ links to full size).

The thumbnails were okay, I just didn't realize that they were thumbnails. I personally can't find any information on that particular error, however I have a buddy "alkohol" that is very familiar with VobBlanker. I will PM him and see if he will be able to help you out.

atmcrabit,

Have you tried running the ripped files threw FixVTS so it can fix any problem areas of your files before opening in VobBlanker?

You can get FixVTS here FixVTS Download

Here is what you should do

That should take care of your problem :-)

:( still gives me the error in VobBlanker. It opens the DVD and lists all the items, but it gives me the error when opening it, and I don't really know what it's referring to, or if it will affect the DVD. Like I said earlier, I can open it in any other encoding program to compress it , without errors, but VobBlanker is giving me those errors.

Is there a certain reason you need to run this movie threw VobBlanker?

He/she is probably like me. Of course I bought a better program than VobBlanker to get rid of the unnecessary stuff in the movie to get a better compression ratio.

atmcrabit-
Just to be on the safe side, have you tried to burn the movie yet? Sometimes, even if you can analyze the disk there are still problems. How did you rip the disk to begin with? This was probably stated earlier, but I want to be sure that you got a good clean rip.

The first time I ripped the movie, it appeared to be fine. When I would try to make changes to the menu's and everything I could not get it to burn. I had to rip the movie again using RI4M. After that I could make all of the changes that I needed and get a good quality backup out of it. Maybe you should try the same.

That error is really nothing, it won't do any harm to you. VobBlanker is stating that the movie (your backup) has "multi angles or versions" that's all. Simply click OK and process as usual or you can "delete/blank" the other version/angle that you don't want to keep.

By the way, the latest VobBlanker is 2130B8, here http://download.videohelp.com/jsoto/betas/

Nice catch alkohol :-) It has been a while since I used VobBlanker, but I should have remembered that I think old age is catching up to me :-)

Also on a side note it nice to still see you around Alkohol

Glad to see you again "alkohol"! I also don't use VobBlanker anymore, but I knew that you would know the answer. I can't believe that the multi-angle thing didn't jump into my head:(

AnyDVD running in the background... Ripped with Shrink... burnt the files with Sonic RecordNow DX

Same I use with any movie works flawlessly.

You gotta love technology. :)

Which program is that?

No i have not. I did not want to waste a DVD until I was sure I knew the problem. I used DVDFab to rip the DVD because DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink both errored out during the rip process. I received no errors from DVDFab, and I can play it in PowerDVD fine.

Doesn't RI4M use DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter to rip?? IF that's the case then it would make no difference because I could not rip this movie in either of those programs, right??

That's what I thought too, but once VobBlanker opens, it does not set any of the PGCs to "skip", which is what it normally does when it tries to edit a dvd with multiangles.

I will try that out tonight.

DVD ReMake Pro. You can get it here DimadSoft

No i have not. Referring to RI4M
RipIt4Me does use Shrink and DVD Decrypter. However, it transfers the faulty Files and fake cells before it finishes the process. It also uses FixVTS to complete the rip. Sometimes when I have a hard time with movies I use it. I don't use it most of the time because it is too slow.

I look at it like this, "The DVD only cost .28 cents!" Well, if you buy then in bulk as I do. Otherwise they may cost 35 or 40 cents.

No that is not correct. I explained above how RI4M works. It uses it's own program in combination with other programs. For example: I have AnyDVD. I can rip my movies with DVD Decrypter because AnyDVD breaks that code that DVD Decrypter can't handle. After you have been burning DVD's for years you learn all of the little secrets. Sometimes one program will not work so you have to use another. I keep RipIt4Me as a last resource.

Edit: To fix error in HTML

well I usually keep DVDfab as a last source, and I haven't used AnyDVD until recently. But I will try the steps mentioned above.

Thanks ppl

btw, I've used DVDReMake before, except I only used it to combine 2 DVDs. I have never used it to edit a dvd (i.e. blank certain sections of it). Could you quickly explain how to do it?

I have a couple of movies that I am about to do with ReMake. Tomorrow I will post a few pics to show you how it is done. There are a few great features that you can do. For example: If you have a menu screen that goes to the point that it shows the Features menu that has, previews on it. You can edit that menu to stop before it reaches that point. Tomorrow I will show you a couple of pics on how to do a few things. You will soon realize that you do not need VobBlanker! DVD ReMake Pro can do it all.

I'm not into backing up XBox. As for the ripper methods. DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD is good for a fast rip. Problem is copy protection on a lot of new releases create VTS errors. It takes processing with FixVTS to make the files DVD compliant. RipIt4Me incorporates the FixVTS code, so I've started using it when I need well cleaned and compliant files to work with. It works better than AnyDVD + DVD Decrypter + FixVTS on a lot of new titles.

Since you were being thanked so much, I couldn't resist. ;) Just to make it unanimous and try for a quad. Thanks Syxguns. ;)

Hey PacMan777-
Just wait, you will have to give me another "Thank You" later. I'm going to supply some pics for DVD ReMake Pro and the uses that you can do with it.

Besides, it's my B-Day!
