well i guess if you are one of those guys that spent over 1000 ona new hd tv for high def playing youll definetly want to watch tv on standard def.. I really don;t give a damn if is Hd dvd or Blueray.. after i met high def tv thats is the only way to go so thats why i always include the hd dvd in the equation. man if you like watching bad pixelation tv be me guess but i rather espend and extra 200 and watch real tv than wait 3 years until we have a winner in the format war.only to find that 3 year later there is probably gonna be something better comming out and youll probably keep waiting to see what else is going to win after that.
As an owner of both consoles in question I can say what my opinions are on the 2.
As hardware is concerned PS3 is obviously far better and more sophisticated. But the truth is (and any IT people can tell you) that no hardware will help if you dont have the SOFTWARE. And thats what PS3 lacks. Mucho.
To be honest I dont play my PS3 at all. I am not saying I never wont, because I (still) believe there will be a time when PS3 will be a better console than xbox especialy in terms of better graphics.
I was a PS fanboy, but they kinda lost me this generation. I dont recall a console that lauched without a very good title... And still is such after nearly 1 year. Kinda makes me sad. Dissapointed.
So yes, as many say PS3 has better hardware, free online play, and oh I would not know what else, but it does not have good games. And even those games that are released for PS3 and xbox are often way better on xbox (in terms of graphics and features). For example Virtua tennis 3 doesnt have online play on the ps3 version, but it has online play on xbox. To me that is a huge difference as i only play it online as i don't have the friends who like the game in real life.
So bottom line is that on a piece of paper there is no question which console has better hardware, but in the end the games are what make a console a winner.
I've read everyones opinions and stuff and have decided to go with the ps3. I just do not want to miss out on MGS, FF, things I can do with my psp and the ps3 and all the other great features. I dont like the 3 red lights I keep hearing about on the 360. Some of my friends at my work training place (im training to build and repair pcs if anyones interested) where trying to fix one and it looked very difficult. So thanks everyone for all the help. Ill let you know how it goes once I get one in about 2 weeks and ill share my psn name and stuff.
See ya later.
