Newegg was really quick at shipping my HDD. I got it the next day..awesome shipping. Now, I'm waiting for the network adapter from ebay. It might be here tomorrow if not by Monday or Tuesday. Unless I get scammed lol. Stay tuned guys, I will be needing you two. Thanks!
Edit: I forgot ask a question. If I get Pal version, will I be able to play it with HDLoader. I have NTSC version of PS2. For PSP it's easy to do it. So, I was wondering...

Of a game? If so there are converters that will convert from PAL to NTSC and the other way around.

That sounds good, can you provide me some app that lets you do it?

Okay, I just picked it up right now.
Now, what do I have to do?
What are the steps? Plug-in the hard drive to PS2 or Plugin it into the PC and copy the files first?
EDIT: Please don't tell me I will need a working PS1 game b/c I don't have one.

Well right now you can prep the HD. Connect it to your PC and make sure it is set as the slave.
-Download Winhiip and launch the program
-Select your slave drive (not your primary)
-Format the drive into the PS2 format
-Wait a while...
-Now you are ready to install your games.
After this you should turn off your computer and uninstall the HD. The HD part is now finished. All that is left is the loading of HD Loader. Sadly, since you do not have a chip, swapmagic, or a PS1 disc (for exploit), I would say your options would be to load HD Loader using Action Replay (or similar tool), or through memor32. Though memor32 is like $55.

Ok, so far I get the hard drive to PC. I will start doing it in awhile .
EDIT: Finally got the HDD to show up. What format does it has to be? I can convert to NTFS only.
But, as for the second part..I have a memory card 8MB?
Btw, using Swapmagic can dmg my lens or affect in anyway? Because I read doing some stuff can actually kill your lens. So, I want to avoid doing it.
EDIT: I got the SwapMagic CD v3.6 *cough* torrrrrr. Inside it I see SWAPMAGIC_CD_3.6.ELF and the SwapMagicCD_v3.6.iso file. Make a CD with it?

a swapmagic copy will do you no good. it must be an original, pressed copy.
when you format the ps2 hdd, format in winhiip. the drive should not be accessible via the my computer. if it is showing up in my computer, then it's not formatted in ps2 format.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd

I see. Well, I went to Computer Management and made the hard drive to show up in my computer. After that, I used the Winhiip to format it to PS2. I can't access the hd even though it's showing up on my computer. Don't worry it's been formated in PS2.
So, what other way can I make it work? and do I need pressed version of HDloader also now? b/c I downloaded them from torrents.

either get a pressed copy of hdloader, or get ARMAX from the store, and use the max media player to load the hdloader elf, or do the memory card exploit.

Thanks for the quick respond. Since I don't have anything except the memory card exploit to go with atm. So, could you guide me with memory card exploit?
I spent a lot of money already about $100 in total for hdd and network adapter. Pretty much broke now. Can't afford to buy more stuff that are too expensive.
EDIT: Once again with my confusion or rather unsurety. What else do I need to get it to work? I have been trying to get it to work the whole day.
Can you tell me if I need to get HDloader pressed copy and SwapMagic Pressed copy also? or I can just use the memory card exploits and use HDLoader v0.8c instead of orginal HDLoader Disc? I'm getting really confused here.

if you use the memory card exploit, you don't need a pressed copy of hdloader or swapmagic. you will need an original psx disc, to trigger the exploit, and ARMAX to load the exploit file onto the memory card.

Question 1: Can I load any ps2 backed up games from HD with memory card exploit right?
Question 2: I went to codejunkies site but they have lots of other products. Which one should I get?
http://us.codejunkies.com/Departments/PS2.aspx
Question 3: I doubt I will find a NEW PSX game, Used one will do the job? I can burn one to make it work no?
Question 4: Without the HDLoader how will I run backedup games from the HDD?

1. most games can be played off the hdd. some don't run at all. use hdloader 0.8c for the best compatability.
2. all you need is ARMAX. as long as it has usb support, any ARMAX will do.
3. only original psx games will work, since your system is unmodded. doesn't matter if it's used or new.
4. there is no way to run games without hdloader.

-HDloader 0.8c downloaded one, NOT pressed?.
This is the one?

Sorry but I want to make sure I have everything right this time. Is there anything else I need to buy, please let me know now XD
BTW: Why can't I just use any normal USB Flash Drive to do the job instead of ARMAX.

you can find the hdloader 0.8c elf on sksapps.com, under their ps2 hdd section.
you can use any usb flash drive, but action replay must be the MAX version. there were versions that were only action replay, but i don't think they're being produced anymore; the original action replay did not have usb support.
the ARMAX EVO edition isn't necessary. just get the one without the usb bundled.

that'll work fine.
if you have a usb flash drive, you can use that with ARMAX. practically all flash drives can work with ARMAX. if you need one, you might as well get the ARMAX EVO edition, with the usb flash drive.
you might be able to find ARMAX at your local gamestop for cheaper. i got mine for $20 at gamecrazy. check your local gamestop, gamecrazy, toys r us, circuit city and bestbuy. they may be cheaper than the official datel site.

It maybe cheaper but will be hard to find. I checked on gamestop and they only have the bundle. Only certain GS store though *I have to call to see if they have it*. I checked Bestbuy, ToysRus and Circuitcity..none seems to have it. Only Datel - Max Memory 32MB Memory Card. But, that's not what I need..

if you don't mind ordering online, then go ahead and get it from the datel site. at least you're guaranteed, since it's directly from the maker.
everything will pay off when you get the hdd running. i spent around $170 for my maxtor 300gig, network adapter, ARMAX, and third memory card (to have a clean card). you can safely store the game discs away, and don't have to worry about scratching them. also, traveling will be much easier. the only disc to carry is the psx trigger disc.

Yeah man, your going to be much better off financially getting a used/new PSX game. Rather than buying action replay that is. Are there no pawn shops/thrift stores where you live? Around here I can get PSX games for 10¢ each.
Also be aware that if you buy the pressed version of HD Loader your not getting the latest version. Pretty sure you can only use the first 127 GB on any HD over 127GB with pressed HD Loader.

I already have a 8MB Memory Card. By the way, *ashamed* but what is ARMAX actually is? A memory card disc or Memory Card like the regular PS2 memory card? I know it has cheat codes.

They only have GameShark and CodeBreakers from gamestop and fye. None of them carrying PSX game anymore. Will GameShark or CodeBreakers work? but I would still need a PSX disc as well right?
-Do you suggest not to buy ARMAX? It will be even harder to get a hold of Pressed copy of HDloader. Can't I just use HDloder v0.8c?
cee43ja1, was telling me to get ARMAX N PSX disce and I should fine then.
Edit: Omg! I called more than 20 gamestop store & 10 FYE Store. NONE of them have it!! Will all these go in vain :(
