also i found that the game plays entirely different on advanced difficulty or higher i have been playing this non stop and i can barely win on the higher diffs

Amen to that! My knees to the face out of the clinch is alot harder to pull off. Not to mention Chuck almost counters everthing I throw at him. I'm quickly becoming obsessed with this demo.

i have been trying to go to the ground a lot and submit or just roll around and get the counters down. shogun is better on the ground than liddel of course but i can hardly defend submissions. I think i figured out my problem as i was gassing myself out and when they went for submission i was too tired to defend. So i have been turning the stamina bars on in options so i can relate the look of the fighter to the state in the stamina bar. at least noe for practice it is good, im sure when the real game comes there will be lots of ppl that play with no stamina bar on so this will help then.
I noticed the bar is green and when perform any action it goes down and you see the yellow bar underneath. So the green bar is like energy level that renews when you rest or just dont move or take hits. the yellow bar seems to be an overall health meter which cannot renew but gets lower as you get hit and take damage, but when the yellow bar goes down the green bar can only renew itself as high as the yellow bar is. so the more damage you take it also makes your energy level cap lower.
So all that being said it is very understandable how you can also get knocked out unexpectendly. IF you just expended tons of energy throwing mad punches or trying to get out of a hold then you take a hard hit the you will go down just like i couldnt defend against the submissions. I tested all this by watching my stamina and when i was in a bad spot like on the bottom on the groundi would just hold block and watch my stamina greenbar rise and then i would try to escape and it worked
Its all very deep when you really think about it, they have thought of almost everything. I mean i watch MMA and i never thought of a fighter taking damage due to blocking too much and that lower the efficiency of strikes but they did in this game. very good if you ask me and i cannot wait for the real deal.
seriously i am thinking i might actually buy this one if i have the money to do so. Yukes has had a hard past and shitty games so this is a step up and above for them.
EDIT: also the tut doesnt explain the right stick well enough but i figured it out after like 10000 matches.
you have to go diagonal in any direction wether it be up+right or up+left or down+left or down+right THEN spin the stick in a quarter circle or half circle in the OPPOSITE direction. so if you went up+right you would then spinthe stick to the left to either the half horizontal half way mark(stop when the stick is to the left) or to the vertical halfway mark (stop when the stick is pointing down) now doing a quarter circle is a weak evade move and a half circle is a strong evade move.
also im not sure on this but i think holding the LB when doing these might make then a counter/reversal but im not sure as i have done with and without the LB held.
So that works when on the ground on top or bottom and when in the clinch standing.

This demo is definitely rigged. I left both Shogun and Liddell sit there and not move a single inch for all 3 rounds and Liddell won by split decision.

The time this game was being made Chuck was the man. He was considered one of the premier 205 pounders and he was Dana's boy at the time. Hell he can still sell out arenas just cause of his old reputation. I actually think Dana is doing him a favor by making him retire imho.

all hype. dana knows how to sell seats and viewers. by telling a name as huge as chuck 'not to come back' it just stirs up emotions. i bet chuck will fight again and they publicize a huge feud between them to get more ratings. i'm just waiting for dana to go the way of mcmahon and enter the ring.
i don't think chuck has much left in his tank at an 'elite' level and if dana wasn't doing this for ratings... it wouldn't have been handled in front of the media.
and i know dana turned down the idea of roy jones jr vs anderson silva (which would have probably gotten huge ratings) but i think that's a good call for the sport to not let them fight.

I would love to see Dana enter the Octagon, but sadly I dont think it will ever happen. I think the closest is when he was supposed to box Tito! As we all know Tito didnt show.
Next Saturday who does everyone have? Machida or Evans?
I'm going with Machida. On a side note I hope Serra destroys Hughs!

Ive been thinking about possible secreet unlockable fighters ....well more like wishing lol as they havent said there are any unlockables besides the gamestop preorder fighters which i do not care about. but anyway i think it would be badass if they uncluded joe rogan, mike goldberg, and dana as bonus unlockables. i mean that would be so badass...oh and maybe herb dean and big john too lol that would be cool.
but i dont like rashad, i think he is an arrogant prick even if he is undefeated and all i dont care. machida runs around like he is in a backpedaling tournament. so i dont really care who wins the ecans machida fight too much. serra is just a dumbass and huges can be a prick sometimes but i like him. so i would like to see hughes mash in serra's face.

i saw that yesterday i should have posted here but thanks for doing it. you see how there are only 2 Judo fighters in the whole game...
i bet these guys had a hard time doing the ratings trying to get them right and also not be bombarded with MMA nerds disputing the stats...which will happen anyway.

Agreed :)
Overall I think the ratings look good. But like you said stealthdf, I'm sure there has already been fanboys spamming forums at how pissed they are there fighter doesn't have good stats.
Only thing they are missing from the HW division is Shane Carwin. :(

one of my biggest disappointments in ufc history is that the evans vs rampage fight got called off. for some reason i was looking forward to that fight more than any in a while for the sheer fact that i wanted rampage to destroy him.
i'd like to see serra win but i really don't care either way.
i wish dana wasn't a douche about contracts so that fedor could be in here although he'd probably be unstoppable like bo jackson in TecmoBowl.

i would like to have seen rampage vs evans also. I live in Memphis so i am a Rampage fan, seen him a few times out. seems like a nice guy but who knows what he is really like after that blowup he had after he lost to forest.

Yeah I have a feeling we will be seeing Rampage Vs Machida. I'm also stoked for the Penn/Florian fight coming up. I'm a huge Penn fan.
On a side note one of these days I would like to drive over to Iowa and take a look at MFS gym. Its about 50 minutes away from where I live.

I will be cheering for Florian for that matchup. Penn has let too much go to his head. i thought it was hilarious when he got beat by GSP after they did the reality show leading up to it and Penn was relaxing while GSP was working his ass off.
I dunno if you watch The Ultimate Fighter but on the 2nd episode of the current season they had the american fighters that wanted to be on the show and they kicked one guy off cause he had like athlets foot on his face lol. well that guy is from here and the gym he is from is rumored to be the nastiest gym in the Tn/MS region and they never clean anything. it made me laugh cause he made it to the show and got kicked cause of that.

a buddy of mine was a training dummy for rampage a couple years back in oc. he said he was a pretty cool cat though.

no shit. i was a huge penn fan until that fight. i always knew he had a laid back training regime but once he called out gsp for greasing himself up too much... i lost respect for him. you lost to a fighter who was 100 times more focused and determined... deal with it.

focus and determination are good words to describe GSP. anyone with that kind of dedication earns my respect.
Im about to go crazy for this game, im checking for leaks like 20 times a day lol. people at work hounding me for it too. I think im gonna pull a cartman and freeze myself and when i wakeup it will be here and hopefully i wont wakeup in the beaver apocolypse like he did. or maybe i can just KO myself and wakeup around the sametime. either way i dont care i just cant stand the wait anymore and hearing the announcers talk in the demo is getting old hearing the same facts about chuck and rua. my gf said she has it memorized and i was telling her she should get used to it cause when this game hits it is all she is going to be hearing for awhile lol.
