Thanks for reply, I tried it again and now it works!
I was expecting some different boot screen and in the first try probably some wire wasn't soldered properly.
So far I tried 4 games, all work fully!
If anyone is interested I can share my experience. Games burned on DVD+R and DVD-R (blue discs from Sony and Verbatim) work fine.
I did copying with Alcohol 120%, choosing PS2 preset.
After all hours spent and efforts, I would recommend rather swap magic if making PS2 modded doesn't give you any personal satisfaction.

I opened my PS2 to clean it. When i opened it up, a big black spring fell out. It has a short straight piece on one end and a longer straight piece on the other end. I put the PS2 back together and now the laser will not light up and the discs won't spin and no games will play. So i'm assuming it's because the spring fell out. Could you please tell me where this spring goes so I can put it back. This is a fairly new PS2 and I cannot afford to buy another PS2 or send this one in. Please help. I'm desperate. Thanks

Hi,
I just cleaned my PS2 with rubbing alcohol, which I've done successfully before. But this time I cleaned it, I started getting more DREs then before.
My PS2 still plays my PS1 and Blue PS2 disks but won't play my PS2 DVD ROM games.
Is it possible that I've damaged my laser lens even though it's still plays my PS1 and PS2 blue disks? What do I do?
Please help!

Hello Modman.
I'm having problems with my PS2.
It will read DvD movies just fine, and there's this one particular game "Fatal Frame" that it can read without any problems. But it cannot read any other games. The discs are clean and fine. Still once in a while it manages to play those other games too, but it all depends on it's mood. But never fails to read the Fatal Frame game and movie DvDs.
Please help me.

PS2 powers up but doesn't have any power to dvd, and eject button light not working although pushing eject powers unit. Does anyone have an idea what this might be? Have repaired xbox360's, but never a ps2. Doing favor for friend, would appreciate any help.

that could be anything. if u dont have access to spare parts it will be hard to solve. u have to try and eliminate things one by one, could be a faulty cable, could be the eject part of the switch. hard to advise you what to do

hi modman...
i have a problem with my ps2, i opened it and accidentally i pulled out my disk drive carelessly, there was a flex below it, which got disconnected so i tried reconnecting it...now when i turn my ps2 on, the blue light blinks without pressing it yet, but the disc tray wont react/open...also my ps2 goes to browser immediately as if my disc tray is open...can anybody pls help me...will be greatly appreciated...tnx

I've got a problem with swap magic. I can get the games to play but I have to choose whether to play with half a screen (the screenn seems to be lifted and smaller) OR to play full screen with black and white. WTF is going on? when I look on youtube i see people do it full screen with colour but not me. This also happens when i do the swap method for ps1 games. I've tried it with backup PAL games (my region) and still the same result. I've tried every option swap magic gives me but no success. I've also tried rebuilding iso's but still no success. Please help.
