but what do you mean by run outside dvd-DB. i should open eclcce before run the process with DB?
I have already set up ECLCCE in sp New,Dvd-RB should fond it, no?

What I mean is that the first time you run ECLCCE you need to tell it where the CCE executable is. After that whenever you run it you'll just automatically get the CCE window or when DVD-RB tells it to open an ECL file it can. The error that says Nothing To Do means the files haven't been encoded so DVD-RB can't rebuild the disc. The only times I've seen this are when the CCE field in DVD-RB's setup screen points directly to the CCE executable instead of ECLCCE.exe. If yours points to the correct file, the only thing I can think of is that ECLCCE hasn't been run the first time yet, so CCE isn't actually being run because it doesn't know where the CCE executable is.

You need to use eclcce.exe to run CCE SP 2.5 because it has no intrinsic command line support. You can have multiple copies of ECLCCE on your system (for example one in each CCE directory). I'm not sure whether its a mistype but it should be mpeg2dec3.dll. Also as mentioned, when you put it in a directory for the first time, make sure there is no ECLCCE.INI file existent -- that tells it where to point (cce executable). You then run it, and the first time it runs is will browse for the cce executable. Every time after that it will be just like you ran CCE directly.

Hi all,
Got here cause I'm having an ECL related problem:
While encoding with CCE SP Trial version 2.66 through the DVD2SVCD front end program, I get "Can't save ECL file" in the encoding window and in the progress window I see "Cannot find CCE Project".
I followed the instructions regarding the ECLCCE.exe file but that doesn't seem to help.
Anything else I can do to overcome the problem?

Why is version 2.50 only recommended? Is there a problem with other versions and DVD2SVCD?

Stage 3 rebuild: This time it is not an overflow #3 but an overflow #4. All went fine yesterday in stages 1 and 2.
Your help is still needed.
My software:
CCE basic 2.69.01.04 (c:\dvdrip\cce)
Rebuilder 0.56 (c:\dvdrip\rebuilder)
Avisynth 2.54 (c:\dvdrip\avisynth 2.5)
Mpeg2Dec3dg.dll copied in the rebuilder directory

hello
i did what you ask me to do and nothing changed.I uninstalled all. and i did a new install with CCE SP 2.67 with eclcce. Nothing changed too. So i Download cce Basic 2.69 and apply it to dvd-RB after uninstall sp. nothing changed.
The process is the following:
The préparation is well done and last about 10 minutes and after there is no encoding. the cce windows pop up or flash many times if you prefer and last around 1 minutes for a movie like italian job.
I dont understand because i saw in the forum it could be due to ECLCCE which was not assigned to the sp.exe but i did it first. And with cce Basic which don't need ECLCCE i have the same error message:" there is nothing to due....3

Make sure you point DVD-RB to eclcce.exe in the setup screen. The "There is nothing to do..." message means no .M2V files were generated, which also implies CCE was never run (properly) in the encoding phase.

I'm getting a LITTLE desparate. I just bought the latest version of CCE (2.69.01.10). And again I receive the wonderful error #0004. I ripped my DVD yesterday again with dvd-decrypter in filemode. I encoded it with my old (try before you buy 2.69 w/serial) and it gave me the #0004 in V01000700006003.m2v . Playing the M2V with mediaplayer went fine. No problems. With my purchased version (uninstall, fresh install) I went to the rebuild stage again. Same error on the exact same place! Any input gentlemen? Or just another $58,- down the drain???

Are you removing anything from the DVD using a 3rd party tool? That is almost the only way you can get one of those errors...

Hi JDobbs,
No, like I said: I ripped the complete original DVD to HD using DVD-decrypter 3.2.3.0 in File-Mode.
I started the whole dvd-rebuilder process again last night using my purchased version of cce. stage 1 and 2 went fine. I'm now pushing the button "rebuild" and go to work. When I come home this afternoon I will see if I can cheer or have to destroy something... :-)

Success !!!!!
Seems that my try-before-you-buy version of CCE was not good. I tried two dvd's until now. One stargate with 4 episodes in the 3 stages mode. This went well.
Second try was a disney in one-click mode. This went OK as well. The quality of both tries is very good.
I want to thank both JDobbs and Vurbal for their everlasting patience to help people (like me) with rebuilder and CCE problems.

it works with a new xp installation on another partition.I have 2 windows Xp inqtallations on two disk. I was not able to find the conflict with dvd rebuilder with my first installation.
But now my encoding is too long for a single dvd R, it is about 4.9GO

Greets to all. I stumbled onto this site from Google and have a different question regarding a problem with the same software discussed in other messages here: DVD-RB using CCE SP 2.x.
In the past I've had sterling results shrinking DVD9s using DVD Shrink, and on occasion, DVD2One. However, I recently came across a difficult disc. When backing up one of my DVDs, I noticed a couple of pixelated faces with Shrink and some notably blotchy "solid" walls with DVD2One. So I dove into Rebuilder and its expensive friends.
At first, the "difficult" disc built by DVD-RB/CCE looked amazingly good. All the artifacts I noticed with the other software were gone. But there was an even worse problem. At several points in the DVD, the picture goes into slow (approx 1/6th normal speed) choppy video mode with audio cutting in and out. These bad spots sometimes last minutes and the problem is always present on the shows' titles. (It's a TV show so so the titles appear 4 times in the DVD.)
I did notice that bitrate was extremely low when the problem is occurring, around or even lower than 1 Mbps.
Do any of you have ideas on how I might cure this ailment? Specifically, if I need to raise the minimum allowable bitrate, how could I do so? I did try raising the "VBR_Bias" value from its default of 25 to 60. No change. (If I read the guides correctly, this should have reduced the software's ability to vary so much in bitrate.)

I occasionally have this problem so I burn another disc and it plays fine. The only other option would be redo from scratch. Rip encode and burn.
Make sure your sizing is correct so that your using the whole disc.

Wish it were so simple as rebuild/reburn. I've burned 5 discs from 2 DVD source discs with similar results. It's not a case of bad burns, I'm afraid. Further evidence of this is the problems are there if I play the rebuilt DVDs from hard drive.
Nor is it a case of bad rips...the DVD9 rips, when viewed off hard drive, don't have any of the problems I see with the DVD5 recodes.
I still suspect (but certainly don't know) that bit rates are just too low in the problem areas. But I don't know how to set a bitrate minimum in DVD-RB.

Bitrate isn't the problem. I have yet to see the final burn on any of my movies with DVDrebuilder have any problems. Any problem along the lines of what your talking about is usually faulty setup, burning software,or hardware.
My recomendation at this point is actually buy CCE basic and match what the guide says. It would be easier to figure out the setup problem if you had the same thing as the rest of us and had the latest versions of the programs.
Other than a measly $58 for CCE, DVDrebuilder is an inexpensive way to go for the best DVD backup available.
