I hope someone can help me with this anoying problem. I tried everything to make a decent backup with rebuilder but still haven't succeeded yet. I have set up everything according to the doom and afterdawn guides. Process goes fine. When entering the encoding phase "creating M2V for VTS_01 segment 0" a quality settings screen pops up. I have to apply and press OK. It then ask me if I would like to save changes to 'NONAME'. I press NO, it continues to segment 1 and everything starts over again; quality settings,apply,OK, etc. I never realised there are so many segments in a movie..... I quit long before reaching the rebuild stage.
Anybody any input???

That version of CCE uses different ECL file options than every previous version. As a result, DVD-RB's author hasn't had a chance to get a version out that can run it correctly. I believe any previous version should work fine.

You might try using ECLCCE as a processing wedge. At least in the tests I've done it appears to work as long as ECLCCE is intercepting and processing the ECL.

Unfortunately not. You could PM Ketola (the webmaster) and he can add it to the software section. Assuming RB doesn't have a problem with it I imagine they'd be more than happy to host a copy here.

Update:
I've tried Vurbal's solution all the way down to 0.53a. That did not work. Then I followed the guru's downloadlink. The files in the eclcce.zip are the same date as the ones I was using. Nevertheless I updated them with the new .zip. Restarted my pc and rebuilder but encode resulted in the same problem...

1. I think vurbal was suggesting you change CCE versions, not DVD-RB versions.
2. Download ECLCCE.ZIP and unzip it. Copy the files into your CCE directory. Then run ECLCCE.EXE and when it asks, point it to the CCE executable. Then go to DVD-RB's setup and repoint CCE to ECLCCE.EXE. It wedges itself between the O/S and CCE and handles .ECL files.
I haven't personally experienced your problem, the one normally related to this has a symptom of single-pass CBR encoding rather than multi-pass VBR. I've tested ECLCCE successfully with versions up to CCE SP Trial v2.67.0.11.

update: I'm sooooooo sad....
27 hours after pressing the encode button for the first time I've managed to get it to 100% encoded.
Now I can rebuild and I will do that. But after 30.2%
"DVD Rebuilder experienced u buffer oferflow. Error #0003. Process must abort."
I misunderstood Vurbal. I thought indeed he was refering to Rebuilder instead of CCE.
Now I have to find a different version of CCE....

27 hours? There's definitely something else at work here. Even a steam-powered processor should be faster than that. As an example, when I do a movie, even if I add an additional pass and up it to 3 -- it takes about 3.5 hours. That's with an Athlon XP 3200, fast but nowhere near the fastest available.
Please post your complete process so we can help get you back on-track.
1. Are you using DVD Decrypter to rip?
2. Any preprocessing? Are you removing portions of the original? What programs?
3. What versions of CCE, AVISYNTH, DVD Decrypter, and DVD-RB?

No, I did not say the encoding took 27 hours...
After the encoding stage was over RB said it took 244 minutes encoding. So that itself is very reasonable. It took ME 27 hours to reach 100%: eating, sleeping, restarting the whole process a dozen times, etc.
I use dvd-decrypter 3.23? (the latest), avisynth 2.5 and now I use CCE SP266.01.01.
I shall try to redo the whole dvd from scratch with 2.66 now. I let you know.

Cool. Just a note. Make sure you use AVISYNTH v2.5.4... there is a beta version (v2.5.5) out that is known to have issues that cause error #0003. Also, you should ensure that (assuming you're using it) you are using ECLCCE v1.81

No luck!
I went smoothly through the first stage (SP266.01.01). At the encoding stage CCE pops up and freezes. Tried this several times with the same result.
But I will not give up!!!!! If I want to buy a CCE Basic version what version do you reccommend? I saw 269. Is there support from RB/clecce ?
Please let me know

I'm using 2.69 myself without problems. The most important difference between that version and 2.67 is the inclusion of the Quantization Characteristics setting, previously used only by CCE SP, which makes it possible to specify the amount of bitrate reserved for motion vs. solid colors. Some people have had problems and reported fixing them by switching back from 2.69 to 2.67, but I haven't needed to.
You don't need to use EclCCE with Basic, and in fact you can't.

Vurbal and JDobbs....IT'S WORKING!!!!!
I installed 2.69 basic and set the cce mode to basic 2.67+ . Prepare went fine and now encoding is running. No more quality settings questions, apply's and OK's.
I let you know when I finish the dvd.

The only difference on the Setup screen is that you need to make sure the Path To CCE Basic field is filled in correctly.

Hello,
i try to use DB with cce trial sp 2.67.00.17 since 2 days but i doesnt work.
I follow the step in the tutorial but i have always some errors messages or the encoding last only three minutes for a disney dvd like aristochat and after a message "there is nothing... "
My setting are : CCE SP 2.66+ for cce
and in Db setup path dor CCE SP 2.5 : ccespt.exe
and for sp new: eclcce.exe
And for avs box the mpeg2.dll file as indicate in tutorial.
What is my problem please, i am tired ti read so many posts

Have you already run ECLCCE outside of DVD-RB? You have to do that to set it up so it knows where the CCE executable is. The error you're getting suggests that you haven't.
