No, I dont. I think its cheap, disrespectful and utterly immature. I only make the tutorials to get people interested in modding and in hope they move on past the immature stage and start gravitating towards the more respected modding. I've converted many people...so hopefull you will be one of them. Modding is fun...but not at the expense of other peoples misery.

Well said. I hate cheaters too and I won't help them.
Timmy_no7.. Modding maps if fun if you play system link with your friends a lot. it stops it getting boring, and you can have comps for the best maps. I like it. It teaches people things about coding they would never have the chance to learn otherwise.
Azzid.. excellent tutorial, I have been pointing people here from all over the place. If you could do a little guide about how the shadow dash arrangement works it would be much appreciated.. Thanks

I never thought of it in a system link fashion.
I've just totally changed my view on it... but within an actual live setting, I don't think it's the best idea.
Even though the maps are fun to play, too many people are using them to gain advantage where the only advantage should be how good you are, not how well you code.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm looking to update this tutorial VERY shortly. Gus and I have been working on his SID installer...he had a few bugs in it, but I believe he worked them out last night and I'll be testing it later today. Hopefully I can elaborate more on the parts everyone is having questions about...maybe add an FAQ at the top or something so people can get answers b4 they start.
I've never done the shadow dash arrangement, but I'll look into it and see if I can make a better tutorial or informative post on it if you'd still like. Just a lil note tho...I have a bad memory so if I dont post about it...I've prolly forgotten about it so I'm apologizing ahead of time. I have been quite busy lately.

well the thing is their is no shadow dashes to know about as we mean by shaodwing well hiding the real C dash info... so that way a noob wont break the mod...
shadow = hide = see noting = 0 files... get me? we just named it shadow C.

Gotcha..Just wondering if you had arranged things different from how they have always been done. I only ask because I see a lot of softmods with messed up dash files. Just so I have some idea of which files may have been damaged/deleted... One question if I may about your method.....fonts or audio? ;)

ok look if this has already been answered im sorry hehe big fourm all i did was creat an ms back up and a mod back up u know just in case but then i turned off my xbox then came back later turned it on and i got error 13 so i put in mechassult got back to the dashbored and deleted the backups in anic cause i thought thats what did it also i havent got the new unleshed x i have 3 wile u have 4 on my xbox yet as to i cant find my mem card ill have to borrow my friends but luckly i have all folders of my xbox on my comp so just tell me what to do

first of all i belive you're not talking about sid 4 , as this version will not let you break the mod nor proceed w/out certain requirements.
2nd it sounds like you have sid 2 . is the background screen on the linux blue ish like?
3rd i recommend getting sid 4.5 and /or aid 3 to be up to date

well gus i have 3 as i said be4anyway ill get the new ones after i get my reg dash back i havent installed the soft mod just tryed gitting the dang backups but i have all the files on my comp do u want me toftp them all back or what

whats your current status of your xbox? fully modded or half working??? ,
basicly all you need to do is reinstall the ms dash on to C folder so that you can re mod it with sid 4
ADDED: you didnt answer me your current conditions.
if you dont have your mem card then you need aid 3 go to xbox-hq.com you WILL find ALL your answers there.
this has notin to do with sid 4 , srry this process takes a bit longer since you dont have all of your eqipment.
coldboot your game load linux ( while linux is loading) you have temp ftp acess , durring this time ftp a fresh ms dash to C folder ( avaible free on xbox-hq.com then you can save the sid 4 files and mod it .
borrow the mem card , it might be faster /easier if not you have a bit of long work. www.xbox-hq.com/html they will answer everytin you need and have everytying avaabile free
JUST EDIT YOUR MSG ... yes overwrite your current C with a NEW FRESH MS DASH found in xbox hq .com (free)
but you never answerd me whats your xbox conditions right now?

Also if i can git it fixed is there a way i could just FTP the save insted of haveing to get the mem card from friend(lost mine)
My condition is i havent installed the softmod i was just modding halo2 maps going through mechassult each time

ok so i have a modded xbox fully working dual boot and everything sweet and all but how do i copy xbox games i have to my harddrive i would like to mod halo 2 old mas and bring grunts in soi need halo2 on my HD how do i doit if this is teh wrong thred to ask that plz direct me to the right one again thx for all teh help

5qv12237 im glad you got it going, srry if i sounded a bit harsh . you will need to upgrade your hd thats your next step in modding the xbox , the retail hd fits either 0 - 6 games... it all depends... you would need aid 3 and put an app called DVDX2XBOX this is use to burn games/ dvds to your xbox hd . you dont need a modchip to make the hd for you modded xbox... you just need a pc and a black cdr and no this is not modding it the old way of evox.... insted this uses xboxhdm1.9 which is very very easy and fast. go to xbox hq and ask over there you'll get all ur answers .

hmm check the back of your xbox ... it should glow green if not then im so sorry to say but your network adapter is fried , no theirs no solution but to de soilder it and re soilder a new one.
but yep if 0.0.0. is displayed then it doesnt work :( when its pluged and it does not glow green try moving the cable to see if it gets signal . kinda like with an ant you move it until you get a good signal.... try chaging the numbers duh lol put dhcp and save and power off and power on and see what happens...
note dhcp will change numbers after every power on but this is recommended for the best result on FTP....
oh and dont try to FTP on evox . cuz it sucx major

want 1 easy solution? download aid 3 burn the iso to your cdr/dvdr w/e ur xbox plays .. if it reads burned music it reads cdr ... then once you got aid 3 running click on dvd2xbox INSTAL... and voila ..
aid 3 is aavaible on xbox hq .com or aiduxe .com
