kealralvo I followed your instructions but still shuts down. I noticed that when I format my Mstick it makes a folder MP_root and PSP not MS_root. Is there a difference between MS_root and MP_root. Is the Hen_c written for only MS_Root??? I tried renaming to MS and it won't recognize any photo files. When installed in the MP_Root it shows the Hen, runs, turns blue and powers off. Did they make more than 1 version of 2.71 FW that causes different root file naming structures?
Thanks again for all your help I know it's time consuming with these quetions

saucemagg i forgot to ask.did u download the easy installer and extracted it straight to your memorystick.if u did then should work dude coz i have test it myself before posting it.ok alex there is no such thing as an ms_root folder in the psp.people make this folder so that you know it is actually"memorystick root"
alex get the easi installer chunglam k,then just extract all those files inside and place it straight to your memory stick example[
E: is just an example k

E:\patch.bin

the files is like this.since u know that mp_root and psp folder is in the main path just drag the easy installer and it must look like on top

i need help with this. I manage to downgrade my TA-082 psp to 1.5. I accidently messed up some of the files(forgot how), so i formatted my memory card. So now my question is: how can i load my iso? sigh, if only they made much more "comfier" pants to hold more items in the pockets....

The update for 2.71 goes i a folder called game/update I think, but check it out because I am working from grey matter.

I do not think you actually meant that. You can not to my knowledge downgrade it to 1.5 you can however run HenC and Devhook and emulate 1.5
I think I am right in saying that it is safe, but downgrading to 1.5 (not emulating like with devhook) results in a brick shaped like a PSP.

EVERYTHING SEEMS TO WORK FINE UP UNTIL THE POINT OF PLAYING A ISO/CSO GAME..
I'LL LOAD DEVHOOK, (it's configured properly to)
and run an iso/cso i put on the psp... and it seems like it tries but then goes to nothing and shuts off..

Just to note ace combat x needs you to set the "UMD Version" to "2.xx --> 2.00" as it seems to want you to upgrade to 2.81 else.

I Have 2.71 & TA-082. I got pretty much everything to work following this guide. Excep Valkyrie Profile: Lennteth that freeze at the start of the 1st battle.
I re-downloaded the ISO. Now I have 2 VP:Lenneth ISO from different sources.(both are from bittorrent) but the old freezing problem is still here.
Anyone know how to fix this? >_<
BTW, the second torrent I just downloaded comes with some extra directories, other than the ISO itself. Do I need to copy these directories into my Mem stick too?

Edited: For the pre-load address, I don't see the 0x98200000 I only see 0x89200000. I guess this is a typing error but just want to make sure... what exactly should I set it to?

When ever i goto the HENC thing my psp freezes and then when i finnally get to the photo it just shows the photo logo in the middle can someone please help Me Pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaassssssssseeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

first of all, are you running 2.71 firmware? I think, though someone might clarify, the eboot for the 2.71 update goes in GAMES/UPDATE, though it might be GAME/UPDATE not quite sure, you could always rent teken or borrow it as 2.71 is on it I think.
Do you understand that there is two ways to turn off your PSP? a quick push and release results or, hold the power button up for about 10 secs until it switches off. The second one resets the PSP properly.
Have you got a UMD in? If so open the draw before switching it on. You basically do not run a thing before trying to run HenC.
Take your time, your almost their.
If it still fails, re install HenC.

i'm trying to play Tekken Dark Resurrection when i use any umd game to play it says
The system software is version 2.71
To start you must upgrade to version 9.99 or later
what is this problem?

ayayaya my psp is gettin me aggravated it keeps on being problem after problem now when ever i get through to the hen C folder it just shows the "PHOTO" logo in the middle of a white screen wat do i do

problem solved. i didnt know that after returning to the main menu i just need to click on the UMD to enjoy the game. =p
anyway, any idea how come i cannot load some games? the machine prompted that the firmware i using is 2.71 n need 0.99 to run the game?
Hey Kealvalro,
I have tried the steps by steps guide by u updating my firmware from v2.5 to V2.71 then innstall the HenC and the Devhook 0.46..i tried it 3 times but i still couldnt play any game yet. I need help!
After all the installation i am able to run the HenC under the picture folder and then start the DevHook 0.46. After all the settings in the devhook menu and selecting the iso game that i wanna play. i choose the start. however the system always return me to the PSP main menu while the game cant be loaded.
The UMD that i used is the Demo UMD tape(only have some videos and musics) that provided in the PSP value pack that i purchased from gamescore outlet. according to them i should be able to use it to play game.
If anyone has faced this problem before please help me. Or give me any hint that wat i should try next. I am so lost!

no matter how many times i take UMD out and put it back it still says Dummy UMD and wont load game any suggetions? thanks

one more question for ya ..... do you know how to make the multi file psp game downloads into iso's .. like i downloaded street fighter alpha and its about 7 files with a format i dont quite understand ... thanks alot man keeo up the great work .. your a real mench

i could play the game now, just go to devicehook configure and change to UMD and then again to Iso/Cso then it will work hope it help others that have the same problem than me, cheers!..

Can anyone teach me how to play ISO's thru USB ? The NFS Carbon I downloaded is 1.3 Gb .. too big for my memory .. i tried goin to the thread where da guy teaches how to do it but im quite confused cuz im using kealvalro's easy installer with Devhook 0.46 . Should i redownload the Devhoook in the link provided in dat guide ?..

ok guys i know a lot has been asking if u can play games through usb this can work of course but i am using windows XP and chunglams devhook for the tutorial for you guys.just go back to the first post and find the tutorial
