I did exactly what the guide wrote (I'm downloading the easy installer so I can't try it yet) but after I opened HENC, my psp reboot perfectly. Then I enter game\memory stick\devhooklauncher0.46 for fw2.71 then a new black ground screen comes up. I set this:

Target : (reboot XMB)
UMD-SELECT : mso:/iso/your game(example:guiltygearjudgement.iso)

UMD-MODE : Image+ANYUMD
FW PATH : mso:/dh/271(MS HOOK)
CLOCK : 222/111
Remote : remote controller
PL-ADDR : 89200000

then click START. No new blue or green background screen comes up. It just turned black then shut down. I tried so many times but this problem keeps happening over again.
So can some1 helps me?
Thnx in advance!

One of the first easy installers you put up just had henC and Devhook (slash PSP for 2.71 and anime PSP for 1.5).

I loved it, found it much easier to use, I have a lot of trouble figuring out how to change iso files on the newer installers, is their anychance of putting the link back on the first post as an "Easy to use" version?

By the way, when I install now I delete everything off the memory card and unrar the new files directly to the memory card. Which is probably I: for most folks. Saves the "where do I copy this bit too" problem and works fine for me.

hey guys you must update your psp to 2.71 k,this is a must to make this work.

this is the chunglams version, mamually installing for u guys to try it do this,

1.HEN C
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/817
2.DEVHOOK Launcher/VSHEX Mod 1.65b
http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=10837
3.1.5 DUMP US
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/8
4.Devhook v0.46 ultimate installer v1.1.1
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/673

NOTICE:::::PLEASE READ FIRST BEFORE ASKING CONTINUESLY ASK QUESTIONS,COZ IT IS TROUBLESOME

i have to say that u should put the files straight to your memorystick.
if u think that u can do this on your windows desktop ur wrong coz this way if u overwrite the files.windows will just delete the old folder and replace it with a new one.but one the other hand in your memorystick even if u overwrite the files this will not delete the folders but it will only overwrite the files that is inside the folders.
first format your memorystick properly,i know some of u guys wont do this or some will just skip this but it is none of my business if it does not work.

plug in your usb computer.
Now remember that you have to overwrite files here if they ask to

A)installing HEN C
1.open "hen_C" with WinRAR (known as homebrew enabler Revision C)
2.plug psp to computer then on psp screen go to "USB connection"
3.move "src" to "memorystick" that means when u open
ur "memorystick" drive from computer(just drag it to that place),
(if ask to overwrite,click yes)
4.open "MS_ROOT" and move all the files here to your "memorystick"
that means when u open ur memorystick drive from computer
(just drag it to that place),(if ask to overwrite, click yes)
5.go back, open devhook and move "dh" to your "memorystick" that
means when u open ur memorystick drive from computer(just drag it to that place),(if ask to overwrite, click yes).

note:this functioning less freezes and you can run some of the homebrews in devhook 2.71 firmware

B)moving "Devhook v0.46 ultimate installer v1.1.1" to psp
1.make a folder in desktop name anyname mines is "julia"
2.open "UI v1.1.1" aplication (known as Devhook v0.46 ultimate installer v1.1.1)
3.click "next" three times
4.choose (of course i agree with the terms!lets Get 'Er done!) and click next
5.install in to the folder "julia" that you made in desktop then click next
6.open the folder you made in desktop "julia" then open (dh/271),move all the
file here to your "memorystick"(dh/271)

C)installing 1.50 dump firmware to psp
1.in your memory stick open the dh folder then create a folder called 150
2.open "1_50_US_Firmware_Dump" (as in 1.50 US Dump)
3.move "flash0","flash1","reboot.bin" to memorystick 150 path make sure "reboot bin" is the folder.

D)installing DEVHOOK Launcher/VSHEX Mod 1.65b to psp
1.open "mylaunchermod165b" (as in DEVHOOK Launcher/VSHEX Mod 1.65b
2.inside open "ms_root",now move the dh and the psp folder to your memorystick,(if ask to overwrite,DO IT)there u go finish.

E)STARTING THE FIRST TIME
1.take out any UMD DISC IN YOUR PSP.
2.start up your psp then boot HENC,wait till it shows up properly.
please guys dont always be in a rush,u will get nothing out of that.
blue screen will pop out and last out over 2-3secs then it will autoboot.freezing will occur just restart and do it again.
3.goto GAMES then MEMORYSTICK and boot DEVHOOK LAUNCHER VSHEX Mod,note that u will now be in devhook menu, set the settings

UMD SELECT : XMB-BOOT[usus-00001].cso
firmware : 2.71 , not the nandflash
clock : 222/111
thumbnail mode : enable
Auto DISC ID : enable
MORE OPTIONS>>>>UMD SFO VERSION : 2.xx to 2.00
REMOTE CTRL : remote controller
preload address : 0x98200000
autorun : disable
screenshots : disabled
ADD-ON MENU>>>>>XMB SCREENSHOT : enable
HEN(2.71 only) : enable
press on start in the devhook menu.
4.hold the HOME[/bold} button for three sec then use the analog to move,ok now set these final settings

move the analog right in [bold]text font
,put the cursor on internal font then move the analog left.
now put the cursor on status layout and move the analog right and choose ICON/HALF SCREEN.done

now press HOME,no need to hold.now u can see the image and details of the iso.

you welcome guys and congradulations to the users that can play iso games now.most of all u must thank the people who made this for us

So far I have stripped down the original easy installer (henc + devhook plus a few other things) to about 37mb. It is pretty easy to use now just running HenC and Devhook for 2.71. Just running henc once and devhook and you get a pretty simple to use setup. In the main screen pressing Home+R to cycle through the iso/cso's that you have in /iso/.

I did this because of friends wanting to run henc and devhook to run iso and cso's. I did not want them comming back to me all the time after running various things on a psp and asking me silly questions.

So, I think I have it running ok
just shove the games in the iso folder,
open henc (if screen goes blue for a less than 5 secs it works, if it does anything else try again),
Run devhook and press start (circle)
Cycle through the games using Home+Right trigger

does anyone want to test it out? can I send it to you kealvalro? I shall test it out on a PSP that has not had a henC installation yet to make sure that it can run on a fresh install but it will not be untill later this week.

The basic idea is to make an "easy to use" easy installer for freinds to run iso's. Do you think I should make it one firmware only (ie 2.71) or keep the others and the other devhook to bounce back to 2.71?

im off for a few hours now.

hey, i'm kind of a dee-dee-dee when it comes to this kind of stuff... i've gotten to part D:2... putting a game image into the ISO... ok, well first of all, when i tried step d1, i already had a file called "iso".... and it had one or two things in it... do i need to make another (empty) one, or just use it? and about the "game image".... that's the actual game that i downloaded from the net, right (ie untold legends from pspblender) at first, i was thinking just any image that is already saved on the computer... but apparently not... anyway, i THINK i got it figured out... i just wanted to make sure...

Most games are rar format when you get them. Use WinRAR to extract them. Once done you should have a file somewhere called your-file-name.iso or your-file-name.cso

Do not mix up a file with a folder, we mean two different things when we say it. An iso file goes inside the iso folder, your iso folder should not have other folders inside it, just files.

PS.
Where do I host files? I will gladly post the cutdown easy to use version somewhere if some folks are finding the current one a bit daunting.

OK. I have done a torrent of the "easy to use" version. Can someone test it out and tell me if it works fine with them?

Also am interested in someone trying it that has not had HenC running before.
Also I am interested in people who have had trouble getting the more beefed up versions running.
Also if someone has a lot more knowledge than me (almost everyone) at what should be inside let me know if anything is missing or is in their when it need not be.

http://www.mininova.org/tor/464043
Seed it unless it does not work.

Please let me know if it works at all!

Kondor, thxs anyway but i made an updated kind of devhook
using chunglams devhook 1.65b.
this is alot better, but it is up to u guys,i do not really mind
i think it is best if u gave them 1.50 firmware dump too,coz they might want to launch homebrews rite.

i have change the first post tutorial.coz chunglam's one is easier to install and a lot better.kondor try using the new one instead.
i have long time made an easy installer for u guys,it is at the end of the first post but this is only chunglam's version

nice one, I will give it a go in a bit. I can use all the ones I have tried so far and they all work great. I just wanted a simple no extras version to stick on other peoples PSPs, actually I use this one myself as the average age of other people who play my PSP is about 6 including one 4 yr old and I just do not want them testing out new homebrew ect.

The amount of times they go looking in the photos and activate HenC making it lock up is bad enough :D

Thank god it just needs a reset to make it nice and new again. Goes without saying this was originaly taken from a post of yours and trimmed so any kudos goes your way anyway :)

Will be interesting if a few find it easier though.

PS, the other firmwares are in it as I felt someone might want to bounce backwards and forwards.

HELP!!

So I think I ran everything fine and saw the cool anime after installing devhook via the easy install. Everything was fine so I was going to put my isos back and test it and went in to check my settings, and for some reason didn't click on start. Now I'm STUCK on a weird blue screen that says like in every language possible saying Setting information is corrupted. Press O button to restore default settings.

I tried hitting O with no luck any ideas?

polo, was it the easy to use installer?
I have found this...
http://www.pspset.com/tips/firwaresettings.htm
which seems to imply it has something to do with lost settings caused by a reset when the PSP is still doing something.
