good luck to ya~ imma stick to my TYs and Verbs that i still have MANY MANY cakeboxes of...but, with these, you can never have enough~ :)

@gurnard, you should try some. the only thing with svp is their choice is a bit limited, for instance i'd try some Ritek to see what all the fuss is about but the nearest they have i think are G05's by Datawrite (yack) and Ridisc (hmmm not sure about Ridisc at all)
Hmmm, then there's certain Ridisc where you don't get to choose between TTG02 or MCC 02RG20 or CMC MAG AE1, maybe i'll steer clear of any Ridisc.
Also they don't do Maxell or Sony nor Fuji (though i think i saw Fuji on there last week but you didn't get to choose between Fuji or CMC - i'm really gone go for that choice - not!)
oh hang on they do loads of Ritek's, but only in printables. i guess as long as i can use a sharpie i'd try some of those

@pikapuff - surely that's wrong about china, as far as I know, neither verbatim nor ty are made in china. Am gonna have to ask this on the cdfreaks thread too. Don't know the url for the cdfreaks thread as I'm in the car, its titled "cheapest ty in uk"

OC-Freak over at cdfreaks has reported back about the China mystery Quote: Disc is manufactured in Japan and shipped in bulk to China and labelled then packed in smaller spindles/jewel cases. Thus origin may often state China.
phew!!!

caved in and bought another of these 400 Verb TY's from svp (well 100 are for a colleague). the other 100 are still on their way :)
@gurnard - finally took the plunge and bought a tub of Ritek - {DV 3208} Ritek Silver Inkjet Printable (8x) DVD-R Tubs of 50 - worked out at £8.10 plus vat - pretty good (used the cdfreaks login supplied by svp in that cdfreaks thread so got a bit of a discount)

sweet...i love me some discounts..too bad im here in the U.S.~ :) all these great deals you have found recently in the UK...makes me wanna get outta the U.S. and all this drama caused by Hurricane Katrina~ :( too much politics, too much apathy...whenever a natural disaster strikes...
anyways, i HATE talking bout that kinda stuff...sorry for my slight off-topicness~ :) i've had great success with BOTH Ritek's 8x dvd- G05s as well as Ritek Ridatas' 8x DVD-R G05s..i don't see much of a difference in quality between them other than the fact that the Ridatas are labelled as such, while my Ritek G05s are shiny silver on top...but, BOTH of them have the dark purple dye that Ritek is known for...and i happen to like it very much too~ good luck w/ the Riteks you trying out creaky...
@gurnard...got urself another Ritek recruit (well, semi-recruit) that is...i know creaky got himself a sony drive too, so, my SONY loves the Ritek G05s...ironic how all 3 of us have Sony drives and eventually come to agree on which TYPES/Manufacturers/Brand of media work well for all 3 of us~ :)
good day to you all~

just got home from work to find my first 100 Verb TY have arrived. yay! (only ordered them Tuesday night as well)..
Here's a (positive) first for me re Verbs - the tubs say 'Made in Japan', opened one of the tubs to see discs with 'GG******' on the inner hub - fantastic. am still looking forward to today's purchase of the other 400 Verb TY's.

first burn of one of these puppies (only gonna post one scan) -
looks pretty darn good!
edit - i shrunk that piccy a tad too much, the error total is actually zero. of course this total means nothing as i would only trust a CRC check, these PIF scans are all well and good but i don't personally hold too much faith in them, certainly not on their own, so am more trustful of them in conjunction with a CRC scan..
