all that's different is the Verb TY have a sexy matte finish whereas 'normal' TY are just shiny silver (they smudge badly with grime and fingerprints etc etc, that's the other reason i rarely buy 'normal 'TY' other than cost difference)

eh ?, over here the various Verb TY are always cheaper than 'vanilla' TY; admittedly Verb TY don't seem to be sold in too many countries and they become scarce (i should rephrase that to extinct) far too quickly. But we grab them while we can and in ripoff Britain it's very unusual to have stuff that's at a reasonable price, so it's all good for us Brits for a change; and i'll restate that they're manufactured in Japan, ie proper TY.

in UK the Verbatim TY 8x -R (TYG02 specifically) seem to be extinct now and i think the same is true of the 8x +R equivalents ie (YUDEN000T02). At the moment i think us brits can only get 16x +R (YUDEN000T03) and 16x -R (TYG03), though haven't tried TYG03 yet

have renamed the thread title to make it a little more generic

i'm sure there's a thread in this forum recently where someone posted details of somewhere in Australia where you can get decent media.

as to scarcity of 'Verb TY' i find it strange that the USA doesn't get them. Very odd as you could imagine how much money could be made from selling them there, yet they sell them here in our tiny country. Ah well as long as they still sell them here.. :)
