Well bro you not doing it correctly to boot a Slim.

1) remove battery and MS
2) Instert your UPMS
3) Put power switch in hold (push down)
4) Hold L trigger
5) Insert your Pandora Battery

The PSP will boot up and then pause at a black screen then shut down. This is done to activate the DCv3 folder. (It and DCv4 are the only two able to be run on the Slim)

6) Remove your Pandora battery
7) Put power switch to normal (in the middle)
8) Hold L trigger
9) Insert you Pandora battery

You will now be presented with the ULoader Menu.

This is done the first time UPMS is run from a Slim. This is because Hellcats menu is active upon completion of the UPMS install.

Anytime your UPMS is used in a Phat PSP and a different folder is activated you will need to use this booting procedure the next time you run it on a Slim.

This is as easy as I can explain it.

It looks like the links are not working...I posted some instructions for adding the 3.90M33 update and the 1.50 kernel patch on the previous page (20) using the MUX 2.1 utility-as far as using a pixel fixer type of utility, just google psp pixel fixer, you can download one thats already in MP4 format right from google..Just put the file in your VIDEO folder and set it to loop or repeat on the psp.

@tripplite-thanks for the heads up on the download link-It appears that the guys are making a couple revisions on the installer to make it a bit more 'noob-friendly'
-also sorry about your Siggy, I used that because when I was changing this guide, it took about 5 minutes to load the page. Wasnt trying to steal your ideas.

In the meantime-I have temporarily uploaded the Sapphire version to sendspace for others that want to use it..I will update the link to the UPMS site when it becomes available..

I've copied the three OFW to my root with correct names, put the cso in my iso folder, and when I try to run it, it says game cannot be started.

(PSP is fat 3.90 M33 and I'm trying to do this to run CFW on a slim)
This makes the pandora battery, correct?

What is the error number you are getting? (80020___)

Make sure your NO-UMD is set correctly-NP9660 works best.

EDIT:**Download link for the installer is operational again**
-Be sure to follow the instructions, and have a look at the readme file that comes with the installer-

Thats the error you get when you try to run a CSO or ISO and dont have a UMD game in the drive...

While you have the psp on and in the main menu, press the SELECT button and a little menu will popup on your screen-Scroll to the option that says 'UMD ISO MODE' using the D-pad change the selection from Normal to Sony NP9660-when you are done, scroll to exit and try running the cso again.

Hi, I'm having problems with my Phat that has a buggy 3.90m33

I'm unable to boot the UPMS (Sapphire) menu even if I hold L trigger while inserting the battery, it boots up normally to XMB.

The odd thing is that it works on my other Phat and Slim.

What should I do?

this is the 2nd unbricker i've tried to used and it's basically just not working for me :(

anyway back to my problem. i followed the steps correctly, but when i start the UPMS Installer (i have it in the iso folder) it tells me to press x to continue which i do.

then it says PSP MODEL : standard.
step 1. IPL Tools
Step 2. Battery Tools
Step 3. Firmware Tools
Step 4. Utilities and Maintenance Options

Format Fake Memory stick.
Credits
Exit installer.

I can't choose any of them and i don't know why. the only option i can do is change the brightness of my PSP

I'm running 3.40 OE-A

if thats wrong, can some1 please link me to a correct firmware?

thanks and sorry for my ignorance on this program.

Thanks for everything.

Any chance any1 could link to the 1.50 Kernel Patch?
(would be best if this was linked to in the guide)

They are here:
http://dark-alex.org/

YOU FORGOT TO MENTION TO PUT THE DAM 1.5 FW UPDATE AS UPDATE.PBP ON THE ROOT OF THE MEMORY STICK. I EXITED THE INSTALLER AND NOW MY MEMORY STICK CAN NOT BE READ, THANKS A LOT!

EDIT
Luckily I was able to format it in a new slim. Add the step that u need to add the UPDATE.PBP to the guide please.

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

Just follow each step in the menu-

If you already have a pandora battery, you can skip step #2 I believe it is in the menu...

And make sure you follow these steps prior to running the UPMS:

1>Format your memory stick that you plan to use as the P.U.M.S.
2>Copy the UPMS installer.cso into your ISO folder
3>Copy the 1.50 update to the root of your memory stick-named as 1.50.PBP & UPDATE.PBP (Yes, Two different names of the same file)
4>Copy the 3.40 update to the root of your memory stick-named as 3.40.PBP
5>Copy the 3.71 update to the root of your memory stick-named as 3.71.PBP
ADD THAT TO YOUR GUIDE PLEASE SO OTHERS DON'T MESSUP THEIR MEMORY STICKS BECAUSE OF YOU!

when it tells you that you don't have UPDATE.PBP on the stick, it offers to do it for you.... so why'd you exit?

Actually its not necessary to add the UPDATE.PBP file if you are using the Sapphire version, as the installer will make a copy for you-its your choice...and the installer will give you the option to go back and place the file on your memory stick manually if you so choose...It looks like you quoted me just now from October which was about three revisions ago? You no longer need to add the 3.40, nor a 3.71 update anymore-Perhaps you should go back to the first post in this thread and review the instructions again-They have been updated. Now I seriously doubt that omitting the UPDATE.PBP file would "Mess Up" your memory stick as you put it-Worst case scenario: if you have a fake memory stick-you would use the "format fake memory stick" option in the installer...You probably could not get it to read because you had already written the IPL to the memory stick-I am willing to bet that was the problem...

I hope this is somewhat helpful to you, and would appreciate in the future that you not hijack this thread again-telling me what to, and what not to post in my thread-If you want to post links to the dark_alex website, you can do so by starting your own thread-Although a simple search in the forums will yield you the same results...This thread has been reviewed by the creators of the UPMS program, and the instructions are correct as posted.

Thank You

Yea you were basically right in assuming what messed up the memory stick (already wrote the IPL), luckily I was able to reformat it in my friends slim PSP.

It probably was a fake 128MB memory stick, that was probably the problem because I only tried PSP formatting.

It worked fine with a 1GB memory stick.

The answer to the question is simple as to why I exited the installer at step 3 instead of letting it duplicate the 150.PBP into UPDATE.PBP. The program itself says "(This would be faster if you did it)".

I would assume most users only look at the first post in a guide and since the program says its fastest if you put the UPDATE.PBP in there yourself, it would probably help to add that in. I was afraid I did something wrong when I got that message.

I wasn't trying to thread jack, I was just trying to say to add all the info possible into the first post (which is the most important one) so people work with the most knowledge possible. I wouldn't have had a major freakout in thinking my old magic memory stick was busted if it said to also put in the 150.PBP as UPDATE.PBP in the first post (and the program leads you on to think its better to do it yourself and now I obviously know you don't want to exit the program after u write the IPL).

Yup as dEEz has stated this is the only other guide supported by UPMS Project. He has shown us great support and is very knowledgeable when it comes to the PSP.

I like to think of him and his thread as our official alternate site, spreading the word and modding the world.
