is it possible that the x360 have the best rpgs, lost odysee, blue dragon, oblivion look like some of the greatest rpgs ever. what do u guys think???

yes and no. i think ps3 will have more rpgs for sure, they allways do. final fantasy is the biggest. i however have played morrowind and i think oblivion will be the best game ever made. xbox360 will have more graphics then ps3 so that is good for xbox rpgs, if they would just make more....

So saying this would make you wrong.
Anyway back to the topic, I think that they Xbox 360 may have better RPG's than the PS3 but the only problem is that the Xbox 360 and PS3 have not yet released all of their games and the only real way to get this answer is to wait until the Xbox 360 and PS3 have finished releasing games and then we will be able to compare.

Possibly. Fable was said to be a very good RPG. I haven't played it so I'm not sure. However PS3 has all the big RPG developers working for it. All the great RPG series will get an installment on it. The deciding factor is Square Enix. They say they may decide to make RPGs for both consoles or only one and will announce their decision at E3 next year. They're the biggest RPG company with tons of great RPGs. If they do for both then PS3 will win because no big RPG developer has signed on to make more than a handful of games for the XBox 360. But if it goes for XBox 360 then it'll be more in XBox 360's favour. Personally if they do that then I'll get an XBox 360 even though I don't like it just to play their RPGs. One of the big selling points of the PS was Final Fantasy 7. Square Enix is a force to be reckoned with. If they decide for PS3 only then XBox 360 will lose but it's always been a bad platform for RPGs. Making an RPG for that console would then be less profitable as the hardcore RPG fans will go for the PS3. And also in a list of my top ten most favourite RPGs ever none of them were released after 2000. That's because older RPGs had great stories. Xenogears is my favourite ever. Any of you heard of it????

Uhhh you clearly haven't heard of their others. There's Dragon Quest a good one. Star Ocean, Romancing Saga which they recently did. Plus a few new ones like Radiata Stories. And also Kingdom Hearts. And all the Final Fantasy spin offs. Like the one with a bucket for the Gamecube which I heard was really good. Plus they also have a few strategy RPGs like FF Tactics and Front Mission. And they truly are the biggest RPG company. And also what good American RPGs are there???? Fable and KOTOR???? Those aren't really true RPGs. More like MMORPGs or Action RPGs which is a different genre. And I know Enix has a few RPG series too but I don't know them. RPG is a little too liberal nowadays. It used to mean turn based games with stories and item collection,etc. Plus Squaresoft did Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears and the Final Fantasy series which are all touted as being among the best RPGs ever. So in conclusion you know little or nothing about RPGs. And I've yet to see an RPG fan not like the classics that were all Jap made. Although I do have a friend who hates RPGs a lot but likes KOTOR saying it's not like an RPG game.

Well we were talking about "tons of great rpg's". They are not so great if haven't even heard of them (I'm a heavy rpg consumer).

your oviously not a heavy rpg customer or you would have herd of them. i think squre makes lunar also. they made dark cloud series and chrono trigger, secret of evermore. crono cross was relessed on ps1. and i believe a mana game was released on ps2. all make by square i think.

Wow... arcanix is some heavy rpg consumer if he hasnt heard of dragon quest series which goes way back in the nintendo days and chrono trigger also. Those are like some of the best rpg's ever. Im guessin you are one of those magic cards/dungeons&Dragons nerds that wear sweat pants 24/7 and hates japanese rpgs. Go play everquest or something. Anyone play FF XII demo yet its pretty sick. Came with Dragon quest 8 which is awsome too but kinda hard.

I dont know what you mean by resticted but its nothing like FF 7 or 10. Its weird but i like it. You get to roam around but instead of random battles you see enemies walking around kinda like chrono cross but better since enemies fight each other as well. You fight command style like 7 and every other FF but yet you get to run around at the same time. On the demo it says release date 2006 which is not much help but im thinking it should be sometime b4 summer tho.

You know I've been wondering. Is the demo right there at the start screen or do you have to unlock it or something???? And among those the guy quoted and said he never heard about I only knew about Star Ocean and Kingdom Hearts. I never knew about the rest until they recently got released on the PS2.

ur missin out. Those were on snes tho but chrono trigger was re-released on the PS1 along with FF IV I think. You should get an emulator and try chrono trigger cuz its a good rpg. The FF XII demo is a seperate disc that comes with Dragon Qest VIII.

I think so. Very twisty story with religious references. In a Gamespot special on the Playstation and the great games it had they decided on putting this in as one of the best RPGs on that system or any system ever. And I keep mixing up Kingdom Hearts 2 and FFXII release dates but I think it was August or Q1 2006. One or the other.

i liked crono trigger, but i got stuck in it. it was a city that was in the sky, if i rember right. i just could not figure out what to do, i went everywhere i could.
has anyone played the new castlevania curse of darkness. i don't like it. it seems to be the same thing as the lamnece of light, or whatever it was , anyway. the camera angle sucks. and i don't like moving the camera the opposite way to see everything. the music was cool for the first 5 min, before i realized it was totaly repeditive. why can't they make it 2d like snyphony of the night. that game was awsome!
kingdom hearts? isn't that with micky mouse or something. i don't think dizny can make good rpgs. now shadow hearts and shadow hearts covedent are very good.and i know my spelling sucks

I think u have to find some queen or something in the floating city. She then tells you to leave but you have to fight some weird monster and die cuz its impossible to beat. Then you get banned from the place never to return cuz the queen will seal up the only portal there or something like that its been forever.... anyways kingdom hearts is pretty awsome cuz theres FF7 and FF8 characters and all the disney pretty much in the game and its not a kiddy game like most ppl think, even tho winny the pooh and all thems are in the game. Effin Saphiroth is hella hard to beat it took me forever.

Rogue Galaxy is coming out for PS2 next year here in the U.S. It's already out elsewhere, and it's supposed to be awesome. Go read about it on IGN.
Still waiting for Kingdom Hearts 2.
I'm not an RPG nerd. I like all genres of games. There are a lot of RPG's I don't find very interesting, and some are just far too long for anybody with a busy schedule to actually finish... but I have chrono cross, xenosaga 1 and 2, ff10, kingdom hearts, etc. thinking about checking out the digital devil saga series... any of you into it?

Sephiroth is really hard to beat and I never took a liking to FFX. I liked the older ones better. And Kingdom Hearts is pretty good. Basically Disney did art and Square did gameplay. Overall quite good. But I think we're going off topic but this sort of shows the kind of RPG support Sony has.

Simply put the RPG's that everyone knows now like Final Fantasy are good (although I dont particualy like Final Fantasy). However the three new 360 RPG's created by the maker of Final Fantasy 'Hironobu Sakaguchi' and the Square Enix team which are 'Lost Odesy', 'Blue Dragon' (you have to forgive me as I dont know the title of the 3rd one at the moment) I belive will be good from what I have read so far.
Not only that but you have Ninty Nine Nights created by two well know Japanese developer's Mizuguchi (creator of Resident Evil) Yoshiki Okamoto (used to be president of Capcom and creator of Rez) which also sounds very good. Although these games are still in the early stages of development they have alot going for them when you look at the people making them and the small parts of information about them that you can find on the internet.
Then on the western side of things you have a very exciting trilogy called 'Mass Effect' that looks superb in both visuals and its story line plus its created by those who made 'Star Wars Nights of the Old Republic'. And not forgeting 'Morrowind Oblivion'.
