If I decide to get Doubt I'll try the beta, otherwise I learned to leave them alone until the wrinkles are ironed out. anything cooking you know that it seems might bit a while for a new stable version? Thnx.

This last fix was for the regular fab though correct? I'm getting tired of this Option nonsense. It's holding the regular app. hostage if a newer version depends on a blu-ray option fix.

Maybe there's something in your settings you can change. There has to be others out there that use the same AV program.

There was also some small BD updates.

Blu-ray Option:

New: Added preview support like a real Blu-ray player.
New: Improved Blu-ray opening speed.
New: Improved copying speed greatly.

The only real reason for this last update was because of a bug with the pathplayer and backing up Doubt. The BD portion is still undergoing testing.

The last official was January 22. Now, almost 3 months later, Feng is still releasing betas with wildly updated numbering?

What kind of release paradigm goes from official 5.2.3.2 to 5.3.2.1 beta?

WTF

Edit again:
And the answer is:
Quote:
Because 5250 doesn't contain new Blu-ray and MoveFab option which are only available in beta versions for now.

It's a stable and feature-added version from 5232.

I downloaded this new beta version, and it definitely appears to analyze and process quicker than versions that I have used in the past. Advice though: which settings would you suggest to use if I'm attempting to backup from one drive to another to optimize quality, or would this more likely be achieved by putting it onto hard drive space and then backing it up? My specs are below in the signature field.

Laptop: HP Pavilion dv5, Intel Core 2 Duo T6400, 4096MB DDR2 SDRAM, Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) with SP1, 320 GB (5400RPM) Internal HD, 500 GB Western Digital External HD, Internal LightScribe Super Multi 8x HP DVD+RW Writer, External HP DVD+RW Writer 1040, DVDFAB Platinum 5.2.5.0/Some DVDShrink

If you're looking to optimize quality, the rest of your process needs examination.

A well documented way to do this, and achieve great quality results is as follows:
Rip to HDD with DvdFab

Process the files with either VobBlanker or FixVts (my preference is VobBlanker)

Encode with DvdRebuilder then burn.

DVDFab 6 is out!
It's the all-in-one software package for copying Blu-ray/DVD and converting video file.

For now, DVDFab 6 contains five options: "DVD to DVD", "DVD to Mobile", "Blu-ray to Blu-ray", "File to Mobile" and "File Mover".

You can try any option 30 days for free, and the time only count down when you use it first time.

For registered users of DVDFab Platinum/Gold, your key is still valid for version 6, and all features are same as version 5 or more than it.

DVDFab 6.0.0.0 Beta is out (April 27, 2009):

http://redirectingat.com/?id=49X85&url=h...vangate-689.exe

What's New:

New: Updated user interface.
New: Updated language files.

Please tell us what you think for the new version, thank you very much.

Best Regards,
Fengtao

It was also stated on another forum, that some of the options you paid for in 5 were still showing up as trial version when used in 6. They let it known that an update fixing it will be released soon.

Yeah it showed my name the first time i ran it, since then it's reverted to Trial info. Shall await the fix then, i haven't got any discs that need ripping at the moment. And yes it co-exists fine with 4.1.2.0 free, 4.1.2.0 Platinum and 5.x Platinum. Nice as i've been using 4.1.20 quite a lot lately for ripping old movies
