I am debating on whether I should purchase AnyDVD or just stick with DVD Fab since it does almost the same thing as AnyDVD. But have noticed that AnyDVD worked well on certain movies than what Fab could do. Should I spend $34 and get AnyDVD or stay with Fab and hope a new update will be released soon?

Thanks for your advice.

Buy it - it has lifetime updates and is updated faster than fab decrypter. Plus is makes everything so simple - no need to use 2 or 3 programs. It just runs in the background making the disc appear 'protection' free w/ your encoding/burning prog of choice.

I bought it. Have yet to find a movie that AnyDVD and shrink together can't handle.

I still let shrink rip directly to hard drive, even though it supposedly is very hard on my hardware, I find that these 2 programs give far less trouble than most combinations written about in this forum.

Best 34 bucks you'll ever spend.

Like others got AnyDVD after DVD Decrypter no longer supported and even though Shrink still works with AnyDVD got CloneDVD2 as a package with AD discount at the time. Well worth the cost! I've yet to run across DVD can't backup using AnyDVD. Use with shrink or even DVD Decrypter to HD file while I experiment. Frequent and lifetime upgrades really are nice. I like free as much as the next person but when you consider the money spent on movies it is a small investment to protect originals. Having fun with CloneDVD2 removing certain items such as advents and warnings etc. as experiments. Also playing around with burn speeds to see if any difference between how play on different DVD players.

To err is human, to really screw up.....use a computer.

I will also give AnyDVD its due respect. I've tried DVDFab Decrypter and still have it installed on my machine, but it was just too slow for me (just me I'm sure others have had better experiences with it). I have also triad DVD43, a good program that is similar to AnyDVD especially because it is free, but it's a little quirky and not updated often enough for me. So I will stick with AnyDVD and would recommend it without hesitation...you've got the 21 day free trial to make your own decision.

I would HIGHLY reccomend AnyDVD but also try using Clonedvd2 it works great with making copy's of dvd's.

I have made about 100 movies with the combination of both these programs.

What do like about Nero and what do not like about clonedvd2? I use both and thay work great. I saw only one bad post about AnyDVD on this forum and around 2 bad posts on clonedvd2. I have never used Nero yet but I have heard good and bad things about it. It's just so $$$$$$ if you compare it to other similar software.

but remember Nero burns, converts, basically everything, and recode(shrink) it's just all in one package solution except it doesn't break any protection

stop hoping, start loving.

I would wait til they work out the problems they are having with 5.7.?.1 series. As Universal movies are throwing invalid navigation errors right and left.

Other than that, AnyDVD has been more than good to me.

Since I always seem to ask questions I will just put this into here to help everyone that helps me out....

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+, 2.42 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Sony DVD-ROM DDU1615, ASUS DRW-24B1ST a - 1.04 (Firmware)

AnyDVD 7.1.2.0, Shrink 3.2.0.15, Nero 7.10.1.0

In reply to phil1's msg on the following: "AnyDVD is not worth the money. During the trial 21 day I could not copy these movies. The Brothers Grimm; Sky High; Dark Waters; & The Great Raid", I bought AnyDVD and got CloneDvD2 and they worked just fine for my on the Brothers Grimm, Darw Waters and The Great Raid. I did not try Sky High but have great faith that it would have copied just fine also.

Very good investment.

AnyDvd with CloneDvd2 will copy any movie if you have problems it is something else that is causing the problem, bad media, something running on computer while you are ripping or burning or a defect in the Dvd its self.

@philone what program did you use to try to back up these films??. AnyDVD has been the best investment ive made in software thus far,so i might have to suggest mabey "OPERATOR ERROR" may have been the problem. AnyDVD running in the background all nice and quiet not disturbing anybody just doin its job cause it all depends on the back up proggy and your willingness to search out the answer here if you have a problem.......

@arrygrout
Nero Recode will basically encode and burn the movie. Just make sure you see a red fox in the bottom right hand corner of your toolbar. AnyDVD runs in the background making the disc appear to be 'protection free' allowing you to copy it w/ Nero or other progs.
