AnyDVD slowed rip and burn speeds way down.

I installed the trial version of AnyDVD. After doing so Ripping and burning with my lite-on swh1635s slowed way down (a 3 minute audio cd started taking about 15-20 minutes). I uninstalled AnyDVD but the problem still existed. I spent hours trying to fix the problem.

Finally last night I did some research and found some helpfull info. A post I read somewhere suggested I go into the device manager and check the properties-->Advance of my ide controllers (secondary and primary) DMA if available needed to be selected (which it was). The post said if that was the case to go ahead and unistall the ide controllers anyways and then restart the machine, so I did. Wa-la, magic, my burner's back to normal.

Hope this might be of help to someone in the future. I would love to hear of other people who had the same/similiar problem!
