Make sure they say "branded" in the ad and that way you won't have a surprise waiting for you in the mail.
Use a reliable distributor, I've been using Meritline for a year now and they are flawless.

Hey, I'm new to the whole dvd media and I've been reading these forums for the past hour or so and the general idea I've gotten so far is go with Ritek because it's good for it's price.
My question is what's the difference between Ritek and Ritek Ridata branded? Is one better then the other? Sorry if it's been asked before. I was planning to purcahse from this site (http://www.shopampm.com/) and either go with Ritek Ridata 4X 4.7GB DVD+R Blank Media or Ritek Ridata 1X-4X DVD-R DVDR G04 Blank Media. Anyone know which one is better or if the credibility for this site and these products aren't good and I should go for a credible site like meritline. Opions would help, thanks.

Apparently not and it's a damn shame too. TY has a stellar reputation for quality and now they're going to start getting undeservedly slammed when folks buy these fakes and get bad results.

Overall, the G04 Ritek discs have proven to be the most popular disks used for DVD recording. There are other good manufacturers, but Ritek has consistently provided a good media at a low cost. Can't say they're worth putting up with hairballs though, chow...
