looking for help.
I am trying to play dvd-r backups on my version 4 ps2. I burned FFX using global image with record now max. The discs I burned onto were fujifilms', and my burner is an hpdvd 300i. I used the swap method using a credit card to slide open my drive, and gameshark2 for booting up my games. It works perfect on cdr games like vagrant story, but the only ps2 game i've tried is FFX. I'm pretty sure the game was copied correctly, but my ps2 wont boot the dvdr. I've also burned the same game on a dvdrw, and I'm still stuck. Is anyone else familiar with this swap trick, so that maybe i could get some tips??? I dont know why it wont work, it's the same kind of thing as using a flip-top and boot magic. I dont wanna go spend the money, especially if this does the same thing.

MUNKYZ-
I was having a similar problem with the swap method but I just got it working today. I tried to burn Midnight Club 2 on a Fujifilm dvd+r with a Sony burner using Nero with no success. Today I used a hp dvd+r (the kind on sale at their website for 16.99 for a 5 pack) on an hp burner using record now and it worked fine. My Playstation 2 is about a year old but I'm not sure what version it is... but maybe you can give it a try if you can get your hands on an hp dvd+r and try it w/ your hp burner, although I have heard older models have problems with +r sometimes. Good luck...

hey, thanx for the response.
could you tell me step by step, everything you did to get your backups working? For example, steps you went through while burning with record now max, and steps/tools you used while performing the swap. Thanx again for your time.

suck your balls, hmmm... i think not. Why would we waste our time providing information to an arse like yourself. You asked:
Quote: could you tell me step by step, everything you did to get your backups working? For example, steps you went through while burning with record now max, and steps/tools you used while performing the swap.
Do you know how many times we have seen this question? Anyway, the people here would have gotten round to answering your question. Some maybe didnt know the answer. I would have answered it myself, not now though. Your attitude is a disgrace, especially since this information is provided by us using our own time to help other and be helped by others, all free.
Your not welcome in this forum with an attitude like that. Patience is a virtue, do you have any?
Good day, find another forum to annoy

It's a snap to make ps2 backups with DVD Decrypter. You can use it to decrypt and burn....couldn't be easier.

sorry brain fade. not sure if the ps2 will work even if the chip is in wrong. but as far as memorex, they didn't work. i used verbatim. i had a list of what worked and didn't work for me on one of these replies but can't find it. i use verbatim dvd-r for both my games and movies. and anybody else who wants to know, i had great success with SmartRipper and DVD2One for dual layer dvd's and you can't tell the diff. ex. T2 was about 8 plus gigs and it is perfect. burned everything with Nero 5582.

i haven't used either, but for my games i tried roxio, record now which is like primo, and Nero. Nero just seems to be the easiest. they all had the same quality.

i don't remember, i deleted since i liked Nero better, but i believe it was self explanatory once you opened it up. if you want to download Nero i can walk you through that. you can get it off of kazaa get 5582 version with a key code. this is what i have and it works great. just click dvd copy and burn. downloads on you hard drive then asks for a blank to copy it to. thats it easy

when you open it up. the first window right under new compilation, there is an arrow on the left next to "cd" click it then click dvd. if you don't have this then you don't have an updated version of nero

tight use ur recordnow max. first when u open the app close the wizard at the bottom. after that look for ur dvd drive that has the game u want to copy. right click it and select build global image. after that name it and save it where u want it and just click build and ur done. if ur burner is not on the top left that means ur burner doesn't support that prog so try another. later.
