Yeah I heard Cloud has two big arse swords in FF: Advent Children. I hear most of the FF anime blows. FF: The Spirits Within was terrible. The CG was spectacular, but the plot was horrible. All style, no substance, sounds just about right for movies nowadays.

Actually Cloud has like 5 swords that can all connect to be one big sword in Advent Children its hella sick. I think that the FF series were at its best between 7 and 9. FF 10 was alright the story and characters wasnt as interesting as 7-9 tho. I like the old Square Soft better than Square Enix. Kinda off topic but i bought Tobal no.1 yesterday that game is hella sick. Graphics was alright considered that it came out like 10 years ago. I got Bushido blade too it was like 5 bucks each but well worth it.

thats not a bad price i like that game it was also great along with castvania sotn now thats a game

i quite liked the spirts within

and advent children could have done with magic or summons like knights of the round table now that would have looked good, it even look great on the ps1 so god know what they could have done with it now

Yeah CSOTN was an excellent game. Who knew 2D side scrolling adventure games could be so fun? I never understood why they didn't make a 3D version of it for PS2. That's kind of what Castlevania: Curse of Darkness is supposed to be, but it definitely isn't SOTN. SOTN was a classic. It deserves either a remake or sequel on PS2.

Final fanatsy advent children rulez. How can you say that it needs more summoning and magic, the fight scenes all last about 15- 20 mins each. (Actually scrap that the fight scenes last throughout the entire movie) Especially like the concept of Cloud using his Moto as a portable weapon store. LOL Bahamut kicks ass!! Could agree with you on the magic part though. Don't really wanna spoil it too much though for anybody who hasn't seen it. Anybody who likes Final fantasy and loves action MUST aquire a copy of it! Hell even if it is only English subs it doesn't really spoil the film at all!! How can The Return say that its too late to play through FFvii, viii and ix. I mean iv lately been playing Dragon Quest viii but it still hasn't stopped me from completing Final Fantasy VII for the fifth time or VIII for the fourth time.

While we're on the subject of anime, has anybody here ever seen RahXephon or Berserk?

Ah Konichiwa. Donald Duck in Japanese, I think that may rip a hole in time-space lol. With all those backups BooBooman, have you ever thought of getting your PS2 chipped? Truthfully I'm looking more forward to Tales of Legendia than Kingdom Hearts 2. The Tales series kicks arse. Any Tales fans in here?

Currently playing FF2 on Sony, still have original Nintendo copy. What I don't believe in is buying a game and paying to play on the net AND if you do not play for 90 days you need to buy a new game!!! This is not what it used to be. Still play NES, SNES, 64 and Playstation but I stopped buying games when I realized it is just BIG business! Returned my copy of FFX for that reason. I feel that when you put out $80 you should be able to just play...

Yea I brought the Dragon Qwest VIII game came with the FFXII demo game which came on a separate disc. The demo is about 1gb. Also it won't play on any hdloader or hdadvance. I tried. It does work if you back it up to a disc and play it with a chip or swap magic 3.3 or higher.

Yeah I never played online games too much. Games are my way of escaping people, not interacting with them lol. I have a friend who was addicted to World of Warcraft and other games, frankly it kinda gave me the creeps. He never left his house or went out. I like games, but I require interaction with the outside world. I don't think I'm going to meet a girl sitting in my room playing DQVIII lol. That's weird Boobooman, but not unheard of. My v.4 PS2 didn't take to a DMS 4 Pro. Davbere was the modder so I'm sure it wasn't something wrong with the install. It would produce the occasional black screen. So the next choice was the Matrix Infinity. I've never had any problems with it. I've heard Matrix Chips are a little more stable than DMS chips. So what's the one game everybody wishes there was a sequel to?

I couldn't think of an answer to this, but how about a sequel to Lufia 2? Lufia 2 was an awsome SNES RPG, one of my all time favs. A remake for PS2 or sequel would be a huge seller, I think.

Tokijin,
You know a good remake would be ff7 or maybe Chrono Trigger <- I'd wet my self for this to happen. Awhile back an awesome team was making a remake of CT for the pc for free. It looked so beutiful but Square Enix the greedy bastards didn't want someone using square soft's story and characters so they sent them a cease and desist. http://www.opcoder.com/projects/chrono/
the game that won't be. :( even Square Enix wouldn't let them make this for them and let square get the royalities and they refused... Maybe since they were americans and not japanese born.

Wow that looked pretty nice. I had no idea such a thing was in development. Chrono Trigger is an all time classic, and a remake would have been a great idea on any platform. Chrono Cross was great as well. It's a little surprising there were no CT or CC games for PS2. A FFVII remake is also a good idea, I think that's been rumored for awhile. It'd be pretty wicked on the Blu-ray. Maybe some game companies that give a crap what people think will read this and take some intiative. It seems if Square Enix stopped the remake of CC, they probably just want to do it themselves. I know the long awaited sequel to the Chocobo Dungeon game is a must have, but I think these suggestions are a little better ideas. Cheers!

People arent really supporting square enix as much as back in the day and i can see why. I remembered back when i bought a ps1 and ps2 game just cuz it was from squaresoft and i liked all of them until FF x-2 came out lol. Anyways it seems they dont really care what ppl want like FF7 remake or the Crono trigger remake that they had banned those ppl from making. If they were smart they would remake both of those u know how amny ppl will buy that shiznit!! Halo3 would be forgotten if FF7 or Crono trigger came out for PS3.

I dont think so. Halo3 will live ever because it has Live. Millions will play with each others through days and nights. How would Halo3 be forgotten? As you can see right now, Halo2 is still alive. You can ask people how many time they play Halo2 in a WEEK. The answer is at least 3 hours everytime and 2-3 times a week.

Look at FFX one of the most popular games of PS2, how many time did you play it? Maybe 2 and that is it. Then you will forget FFX in a month later.

I'm a huge fan of anything Square, especially after playing the first Final Fantasy on NES...oh jeez that was over 15 years ago wasn't it? Final Fantasy 3 (FF6 in Japan) was my favorite of the series so far, but FFXII is looking very good. Played the demo (found it on mininova ;) & it just rocks.

With that said, yeah these FF titles are getting old. They need to come up w/something new to call it. Maybe branch it out from being a pure RPG into action. FFXII is so action-oriented, the real time RPG system now seems almost full action.

I like the Chocobos, Cid and everything that carries from one FF game to another. But....rename the d@mn thing. I don't want to play Final Fantasy 20 someday. Name change! Get on it Square.

btw, if you ever get a chance play Racing Lagoon & Einhander for Playstation. Two excellent non-rpgs by Square.

Actually FFX sold more than Halo 2... but FFX isnt the best in my opinion and proly to most FF fans as well. But u know if 7 was remade it would definitely give Halo 3 some compitition. Ppl all over are still playin probably every FF series and how long ago did they come out??? Halo 2 has been out only for a couple of years. Im sure ppl are not gonna be playing Halo2 for as long as ppl play FF series.
