In most cases you can just run DVD Shrink in Parallel with DVD43 and it will solve the problem.

HOW TO USE DVD43: Insert the DVD you want to copy and wait for DVD43 to detect it (smiley face turns green). Start DVD Shrink and copy your movie.

Hi boy1b
You're getting the error in the verify stage When this option is checked the verify part takes place right after the burn is finished.

Are you running AnyDVD?

@those that needed helps

As usual DVDFAB Decrypter (12 minutes to rip) + VobBlanker (5 minutes or less to process/clean and blank out junks that you don't need them).

Again, don't sweat Insideman ain't all that, it's how you use the programs and how you process/clean those unwanted junks.

Here are tons of FREE tools that can rip any dvds (yes.. even new released) flawlessly, regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS. Below are some very useful FREE tools to have.

<< *FREE* Ripper & Editing tools >>
** DVDFAB Decrypter - one of the best FREE ripper now (takes 12 minutes to rip)
** RipIt4Me - one of the best FREE COMBO/ripper including DVD Decrypter + PSL (12 - 15 minutes to rip)
** VobBlanker - one of the strongest FREE editing tool (2 - 5 minutes to process/fix fake structural, fake cells, dummy vts/pgc, etc. flawlessly, it can "cut, edit, strip and blank" out any scenes/vts/cells or unwanted junks.)
** FixVTS - one of the best FREE junks processing tool (works the same way like VobBlanker, but it "can not" edit or blank out unwanted junks.)
** PgcEdit - a very useful FREE editing tool.

<< *FREE* Transcoding tool >>
** DVD Shrink - (one of the best FREE transcoding engine).

<< *FREE* ISO/Image burning engines from LUK >>
** DVD Decrypter
** ImgBurn

Just used Alkohol's "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker" guide
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154

Worked flawlessly. Simply another case of the "Running Man".

I followed sesko's advice, and highlighted "unreferenced material" on left hand side, and changed right hand drop-down to "still image", and fixed my problem burning "Inside Man". I use DVDFab Decrypter (always updated), along with DVD Shrink, and that's all I needed. I did not need to use vobBlanker, in conjunction with the newest version of DVDFab Decrypter and DVD Shrink. I'm sure those using AnyDVD are having the same success, but this "trick" seems to do it for me. I highly recommend using the automatic update feature on DVDFab Decrypter, even for those who don't burn very often. You will save yourselves a lot of time and aggravation.

Please I need extreme help!

Whenever I back up the movie on DVD Shrink, I get an error just 1% encoding saying

"Programming Error - exception occured

The handle is invalid"

Any solutions? And I also have AnyDVD 6.0.4.5 running. Why won't it encode?

Find you style, and stay true with it.

use dvdclone2 instead of dvdshrink.. i use clone more than shrink now but shrink comes in handy when you want to improve your quality on a long film...

RipIt4Me has no problem with this movie. It uses DVD_Decrypter which people will try to tell you not to use. It produces beautiful backups.

@RiceBeef
Follow sesko's advice - make a still pic of the unreferenced material in Shrink.
That should do the trick for you.

Hi beforente
Likely culprits can be the media you are using and burn speed.
Which media did you use and what was the burn speed?
Firmware on the burner up to date?

I ripped a new dual layer dvd using Ripit4me, running thru FixVTS, Shrink and Nero for burn. It will only play halfway thru. I do not think it my player is recognizing the 2nd layer.

Is there anything special I need to do for burning dual layer. I did select DVD9 and uncompressed format in Shrink.

Thanks

Ah dual layer - yes players can be picky on them.

With the method you are using try burning w/ decrypter instead of Nero on the dual leyer media. Check pick 'iso and burn w/ decrypter' under 'select backup target'.

For dual layer stay with Verbatim - best one for dl.

What's the make and model of you drive - you may need a firmware update to help it w/ the dual layer media.

Also if you burner supports booktyping - I would booktype those dl to dvd-rom to help you player w/ them. Both Nero & decrypter booktype.

Thanks binkie7, unfortunately I just bought 2 - 10 packs of memorex DL discs. I will be burning with memorex for a few days. I did have 2 disc fail in the burn process so far, at about $3 a disc that hurts.

My DVD burner is IOMagic LightScribe 1DVD16DLS.

Just learning about alot of this stuff, this forum has been a great resource, thanks for your reply.

You don't need to run it through all those programs RipIt4Me will let you output to an iso format. Choose that one and then when the file is done use DVD Decrypter or try ImgBurn it will calculate the layer break for you and burn.

For ImgBurn go here http://www.imgburn.com

Use arniebears suggestion. (tsx arniebear)
When you use decrypter to burn you may be able to booktype. Your drive is either made by LiteOn or BenQ.
Next to burn speed you'll see what looks like an open book - click that one and try the 2 different drives (LiteOn or Benq).

Now your firmware - check out i/o nagic site on how to identify the drive and see if one is available:
http://www.iomagic.com/Firmware/FirmwareDownload.html

Try the suggestions and let us know how it goes.

Thanks Binkie7 & arniebear, I tried a burn using Imgburn and all looks good.

I do have a couple of questions though 1) What is an ISO file? 2) If I want the movie only do I just use Rit4Me in movie only mode then build with ImgBurn, or is there a quicker way?

Thanks

if doing a movie only i would suggest to use a SL disk and not the DL disks. DL disk are more useful if u wont to copy the entire dvd without any compression
Quote:
What is an ISO file?
An ISO file is 1 big single file of all the VOB,IFO,BUP files on the dvd, as opposed to a Video_TS folder that has a number of files in it not just one.
