i've recently modded my wii and thouht i would have a go at modding my Xbox360samsung ms28 drive.
I've downloaded jngleFlasher and i have entered the 1.6 ixtreme firmware,i have installed the i/o port and installed latest drivers.
I should add that i am using the via vt6421 chipset.
Now i'm not yound and i'm doing this for my kids so i'm not great when it comes to this stuff.
As i understand it i have to plug the chipset into one of my pcs spare sata sockets, the problem i'm having is i can't seem to fit the chipset in,i have two spare sockets and they are really close together so i can't slot it directly in.
what i have done is plugged one sata lead into my pcs socket and into the chipset, then i have another sata lead which i have coming from the chipset to my samsung drive.
so i've connected my chipset this way,the i/o port is installed,i have .Net 3.5 framework installed, jungleFlasher installed with the right firmware on it,my xbox is powered up but jungleflasher still doesn't recognise my disc drive.
As i said there are only 2 sata ports so i check them both on jungleFlasher and it isn't in any of them,i've done sammy unlock and still nothing.
when i go into device manager i don't have via raid controller show up so i guess the chip is compatible, the port i/o shows though.
I've tried turning the power off for one second but that didn't help.
I'm hoping it's just something obvious that someone can help me with as i have spent hours on it and i am getting very frustrated.
Thanks for the tutorial, It was extremely simple to understand. I was very confused with the other tutorial. And if there is anyone out there that are having problems, just keep trying it will work. =)
I have windows 7 64bit and noticed this in the first post.
PortIO installed (requires 32bit Operating System)
Is there any way around this? I just got this pc and had to build it so it would keep up with me. I hate to dump my OS as I just got done transferring 3tb's of info from my old one and no longer have it. Plus I just bought the OS last week and would have to buy another. I also hate to only be able to use half my processor when I will only flash 2 to 3 drives a year. I do have an old Compact Presario with xp but I believe this will just cause a sataide conflict and most likely not work out. What should I do?
