Yea I'm sure...my dad works for the Sacramento Bee (Sacramento, CA's newspaper). They usually have all the ads at The Bee by Thursday. They have to sort them all out and put the ad section together which takes time so yea they usually get all the ads by Thursday.

Let's see..$14.99 for 50, $25.00 for a 100 pack, "After" a lengthy $25.00 Rebate wait. I really Dislike Rebates. If my Math is correct, the savings are only $2.50 for each 50. I think I will skip the Rebate. Besides, I like being able to "put my hands on them" when I buy them. Great Deal if the Rebate was an "Instant Rebate".
Thanks Though laddyboy! :-)
P.S. Just how much does Amazon charge for Shipping?

Damn, $10 to ship a pack of dvd's. That makes it not a better deal right there.

Supermedia store has high shipping also, but of course their DVD's are not that expensive to start with.

if one is willing to deal with the rebates (i personally will not), then try to find the deals on Verbatim that are SOLD DIRECTLY from Amazon.com, rather than shipping from "media supply" or whoever...
here is an example:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002IQ1I0/sr=1-79/qid=114006236...
FREE shipping, usually NO tax from amazon.com (if sold by them directly)...rebate here and there..etc..etc...
while this isn't a GREAT price for Verbatims, it was used only as an example...take advantage of the amazon "super saver shipping" when you can, cuz $10+ for shipping 1 pack of dvds, you gotta be crazy when you can get Verbatims locally when on sale for about $15/50-pack, just get 2 spindles and there is your $30 plus tax spent for 100 Verbatim 16x dvds, in either format that you desire... :)
anyways, i've bought Verbs from amazon.com before when the price was a lot lower, with no rebates, got them shipped to me free with no tax, i won't pass up a deal like that if i can help it and the price is right~ (basically, less than $0.40/disc is what i consider "fair price" for Verbatims and/or Taiyo Yudens) :)

The Amazon deal was with free shipping this AM. Since then, they've kept the price, shifted to a different supplier, and added shipping. I have the pay one amount for the year for shipping deal, so I don't worry about it. Not a deal if no free shipping is available, especially having to wait on a rebate as well.

@dvdripguy
the MIT Maxells in the 8x rated speed for BOTH formats are Ritek made media...
MIT Maxell 8x DVD-R = RitekG05
MIT Maxell 8x DVD+R = RitekR03
if you can find the MIJ Maxells, they are IN MY OPINION better than the Riteks, the MIJ are made by Hitachi and have proven to work very well for ME~ :)
good luck, hope that clarifies a bit for you...but, if you INSIST on Ritek media, then MIT Maxells is what you are looking for...OR the Office Depot branded 8x media is identical to Maxell's MIT offerings as well~

MIT = made in taiwan
i just used the "MIT" for short~ :)
look carefully on the packaging (wrapper) of the spindle, every spindle regardless of brand will have the country of origin (where they were made)
MIT = made in taiwan
MIJ = made in japan
:)
