Went to save my pokemon Colliseum game to my Max memory card and now I can't find the dol file to be able to load copies? I thought could use this as a memory card as well as for loading? If theres something special have to do please let me know. Couldn't even get the sav file off my memory card when hooking it to my pc for some odd reason. Any help is appreciated. Got a spare mem card in the meantime but if can use this for both sav and loading would be nice. Thanks.

max drive pro memcards are not that great for actual saving games contrary to what I posted at the start. After a while, they die down and the gamecube stops recognizing them and you can only use them to boot games. I also just switch memory cards as soon as I'm done swapping discs.

Hey

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah, while emailing you I started doing the same thing just in case that is the advice you were gonna give me anyway. Then started going through the other threads and see what anyone had to say bout it. So transferring the dol file to another memory card would allow me to do the loading of copies to? Cause that hardware error please reinsert is starting to get on my nerves, only had to do it 10 times and thats only with 3 games. Thanks for the great guide, just to bad they hadn't created a better piece of hardware. Viper315

yea sure if you want to copy the .dol onto another memory card that will work too and you can use it for saving simultaneously as well.

Okay, great. I'll do that if it keeps up. Also wanted to mention, when I first got my GC and everything was getting that unable to recognize media error, its not the media am using it was the pot. I tried those 3 games on another GC unit and worked perfectly fine, so just switched em. So most likely those that are having that issue it is there pot needs readjusting and not a bad burn. I helped a friend readjust the pot on his when he bought his GC and installed an actual modchip, it wasn't to bad to do just if could help it wanted to not have to bother just in case something were to go wrong. Again thanks for the fast responses and have a great day/night. Viper315

my MDPro says corrupt when I play games as well, it only works when loading it w/ the MDPro. To be honest, I've thought about formatting it through the gamecube but I was afraid of what may happen, and it may break some kind of file system needed to transfer files from PC-> MDPro. So, I just replace the MDPro card with a normal memcard when I'm done the swap since I'm up beside the gamecube anyways. If you test this out and it works, then let us know! But if you do it and it breaks something don't say I didn't warn you.

Was told its not good to swap memory cards when the system is on, so I copied the MDP system file and the .d0l file to the memory card Ive been using to save my games and it works just as if you were using the MDP. Only drawback is not being to hook it to your pc to back up your saves on there. Could always copy the game sav files to the MDP every so often and hook it to the pc and back em up, that is if can get it to work. Figured be so much less hassle and less changes of breaking my machine by switching memory cards. Thanks bruce and everyone else that showed me how. Viper315

probably the game/burn. Check the .nfo or the comments section of wherever you DLed your game and see if there are known issues with your specific ISO.

It's probably not the game/burn. It's most likely your POT. I got a Max Drive Pro and burned a backup, and it worked sporadically. I adjusted the POT to about 145 (with a phillips and a multimeter), and now the backup works dandy.

if you are using Cheapo DVD-R it could very well be the brand.

I re-formatted my MAX Drive Memory card with the gamecube action replay software and my MAX Drive Memory card still works and is able to launch GcoS 1.5. Actually, i had to do that so my pc could read the Memory card. Just make sure after you reformat it, to select the "prepare hardware" option, then your good to go.

I have the same problem with PAL games running on my NTSC Gamecube using minidisks or the BBA.

Does anyone know where to find some good ISOs? I had been using torrent sites but I kept downloading bad rips. It sucks when you wait more than a month to download only to find your ISO won't work. It is a good thing I invested in a BBA elsewise I would have burnt them each to a $1.30 mini-disk. I've downloaded 7 bad ISOs since I bought the MDPro about 2-3 months ago.

Well, it's been about 4 weeks since I ordered the Max Drive Pro after reading this tutorial and I finally receive this email from codejunkie's crap support when I email them ---

Thanks for your interest in shopping with Codejunkies unfortunately the Game Cube Max Drive Pro you have recently ordered has been discontinued.

We are still able to ship this item to you but there may be a delay up to five weeks we apologise for the inconvenience caused by this matter.

If you could please contact us if you wish to cancel the order if we do not hear from you we will keep the order pending and ship it as soon as we have the stock.

Kind Regards

I am not happy - mine was ordered and billed immediately to C/C 23 days ago. There was no mention of it being limited or perhaps delayed. I emailed them a couple of days ago asking for a tracking number or something because I was beginning to think it had been lost in transit - and I got the same reply as above.

Why does it feel like if I hadn't mailed them to voice my concern I would've been none the wiser and waited patiently for another possible month? And is it 5 weeks delay from now, or from the point of ordering?

Bad, bad service :-(

Where is the "Edit post" button I wonder?

Strange, my order says "Order Status: Complete & Despatched". Hope so.

Yes, my order also says it was 'completed and despatched', but apparently, they're just putting that there to make you feel happy. I'm also curious if they're going to make me wait another 5 weeks to get the item.

Additionally, its impossible to talk to anyone there on the phone and they take a good week to answer your emails. What a horrible company. I wouldn't be suprised if it's 2 people running the business in their spare time, using the cheapest shipping methods possible to maximize their profit on items.
