AnyDVD does run in hte background, removes the CSS protection from the disk, will also remove ARCCOS protection and any other protection that they seem to put on disks. This allows other programs like CloneDVD2, Nero Recode2, or DVDShrink to rip the movie from the disk and recode it or shrink it to a smaller file size which will fit onto a 4.7 Gbyte disk. I use AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 for the majority of my backups. Once in a while I will play with Nero or DVDShrink for a learning experience.

Slysoft offers a 21 day free trial, check it out.
AnyDVD runs in the background, invisible.
Really basic directions...
1. Insert DVD
2. Open Clonedvd2,
3. insert blank DVD
4. start CloneDVD process.
5. 45 minutes later (roughly) whole process is done.
Hope this helps.

You buy the program from the slysoft site, just uncheck the programs you do not want in the buy screen. You can type in AfterDawn and see if there is still a discount going. You will be sent a confirm email with the site to dl the key generator.

Make sure that you save the key on a disc so that should something happen to your system you will have the key to use again.
I made several copies so that I know that I will always be able to find it if needed.
Cheers.

Lol, I too backed it up at least four times. These two programs I do not want to lose the keys for.

Did you buy the program, because if you did slysoft will send you a confirmation email that has the site where you dl the key generator. You then click on the file and it will automatically install the key into the program and registry. You then save that key generator file to disk or jumpdrive, otherwise if you need to reformat and do not have it you will not get another.

Hi,
cincyrob, not sure how your doing the above or your system but AnyDVD/CloneDVD2 takes an average of 18 mins to rip/transcode/write. Whilst other methods take 1 hour + to do the same.

@arniebear,
I am a bit confused to your reference of Slysoft sending a confirmation with a download to a keygenerator.
When I purchased AnyDVD, I was sent an email with a download file containing the key. I had to have a trial version on my computer first. This put a "little red fox" on my desktop, which I clicked to make a fully functioning program.
Is it not going to be the same for CloneDVD2? (a sheep perhaps?) Yes, I do know to store the key on a cd or dvd.
