Nice guide, something comes new everyday. Although I still prefer the swap magic, it save me the hasstle and cost cheaper. No Offence but still very useful.

Can someone help me here? This is as far as I've gotten:

1. Load up ARMAX, pick the media player.
2. Load up CDLoader.
3. Swap CDLoader with ARMAX disc.
4. Once that stops spinning press triangle.
5. Insert PS2 original DVD and press triangle again.
6. Bottom-left corner says "PS2 DVD".

Now, this is where I'm confused, because in your instructions, it says the DVD will stop. However, it's not doing that for me. It's just spinning forever. Help?

Nevermind...Got it working. Thanks man, this guide is way better than that other one.

PERFECT! The solution to my problem with Cog-Swap used in jjax's guide.

MasterChu, take Memorex out of the recommended media as it's one of the worst media to make a backup. Change that to Taiyo Yuden.

Make sure you use a high TOC game for the swap. The game you're going to play has to be a smaller size than the game that you swapped, or else the game may not play properly. For example, I tried playing my KH2 import by swapping with Tak 2, and the game wouldn't load the PSS movies, therefore making it impossible to advance in the game. I then tried Star Ocean(which is a whopping 4.3 GB) for the swap, and everything loaded fine.

Memorex will cause excessive wear to your laser, that's why I'm saying not to use that. SCPH-75001 is my PlayStation 2 as well, but no matter what version, especially the SCPH-70011/70012, it is CRITICAL that you use high quality media. Take a look at this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/240341. Not ANYWHERE do I see Memorex as part of the top quality brands.
Could someone tell me how big Gran Turismo 4's TOC is? I'll use that for my swaps.

First off, can i somehow use the same trick with Action Replay 2 V2? Booting newer AR with my excisting AR2V2, is it possbile somehow?

PS2 V14's Laser Lens Number is PVR-802W. Although there has been something mentioned that V14 has some variation like 14b & 14c. Don't know how true it is?! Still i think V14s have the same laser.

i think i'm dumb

It doesn't have Media Player, atleast it seems like it. So this trick can't be pulled off? No other ways?

I think you need to do the same, only that i don't know how fat ps2s are compitable with USB thingies. You may need some extra work. But i suggest you to use MC Exploit if you have fat ps2.

Something like this - http://www.ps2nfo.com/forums/showpost.php?p=48840&postcount=12

Very cool, man. This is what I've been looking for - thanks! One question before I waste a CD, does this work with PS1 backups too?

I think the answer is no because I tried to do that exact same thing today with a PAL backup(V-Rally Championship Edition). It will not boot. CD Loader stays at an orange galaxy screen with a pink border around it(meaning the load failed). If there is a way, how do you do it?
I'm actually using CD Loader on a CD-R. I press Triangle to retract the laser, change CD Loader with a PSX game(V-Rally 2, Grand Theft Auto, or Gran Turismo 2 Arcade or Simulation CD), then, when the disc stops spinning, I swap the original PSX game with a backup. I press X, but the game refuses to load. What to do, what to do, what to do?

It depends on the program you use on your Memory Stick, in this case CDLOADER. If the program supports PS1 games, then it's possible to use PS1 games, if not then not. And you can use whatever program on your Memory Stick, as long it's ELF file and meant for PS2. For more homebrew programs you can search ps2nfo.com.

Aaaahhhh, I get it. So, all I have to do to solve the problem of the messed galaxy screen(a VERY common problem) is to put CD Loader on a USB Pendrive. Did I get that right?

CD Loader can boot CD backups, but not all of them. I loaded a CD backup game no problem with it.

Can we use a burnt Action Replay Max CD (with media)? Would that work in place of the original CD? I know this is a dumb question. But, it never hurts to get an answer. lol.
